2. STEP ONE: CHOOSE A FABRIC
• Cotton is great, but not
very thick and light will
come in
• This can be super
pretty, though
3. STEP TWO: MEASURE
• Measure your window length and height
• Add an inch or two to each measurement to give
room for a hem and the loop for the pole.
• Cut out the fabric according to the measurements
of the frame
4. STEP THREE: HEM
• When making a hem you’ll want to pin about ¼ - ½
of an inch
• It is a very good idea to iron these edges after
you’ve hemmed them
• This way it will be easier and neater to sew
• Sew the hem!
5. STEP FOUR: THE LOOP
• Use a shower curtain rod to hang up your curtain
• They are cheap and easy to move and reuse
• Measure around the rod, giving some room to slide
your curtain on and off
• Take the top of your curtain and fold it under the
amount you have just measured and sew it
together
• Don’t iron this part– it looks much better with a loose
loop rather than a tight edge
