Achieving great health and wellness is as easy as eating your vegetables. Therefore it would be
foolish not to start eating more broccoli, according to research.
Research has found that certain vegetables like kale, cauliflower, broccoli, brussel sprouts contain
sulforaphane, which is a very potent cancer-fighting chemical. Broccoli is a rich source of
glucosinolates which break down into the substance called sulforophane. Sulphoraphane appears
to have a strong anti-cancer effect by stimulating our natural defenses. Johns Hopkins University
School of Medicine researchers recognized sulphoraphane as a compound found in broccoli
sprouts. The researchers also found that it also kills the bacterium Helicobacter pylori, that is
thought to be responsible for many cases of stomach cancer and ulcers.

-Select a head of broccoli, or cauliflower that is a tight green or white head, with firm stalks. -Store
the broccoli, and cauliflower in an open container, not sealed. -When preparing florets to be
served raw place in cold water for 10 minuets, this will make them crisp. -Eating plain broccoli can
be very boring so be creative with your condiments. --Steam broccoli and add toasted pine nuts or
seeds.

--Sprinkle broccoli with Balsamic vinegar. --Sprinkle steamed broccoli with olive oil and herb. --
Sauté minced garlic and mix with olive oil to drizzle on steamed broccoli.
