Admission causes undue stress. (emotional
factors as well as financial capability must
given utmost importance
 Be observant. Consider the individual patient’s
needs.
 Provide an individualized admission procedure
 Show maximum efficiency and concern


UNIT
Prepare the Treatment table
 Ensure all the equipments are complete
 Check Ventilation
 Ensure patient’s privacy
 Prepare the patient’s chart

PROCEDURES OF PATIENT ADMISSION



Meet and receive the Patient
Perform examination & evaluation procedure

Meet and receive the Patient
- Verify the patients data, by checking the record sheet,
chart
- - Introduce immediate personnel
- - Assist patient to the treatment area
- - Ask the patient o change clothes, into a hospital gown if
necessary
 Perform examination & evaluation procedure establish
baseline values like vital signs, do history taking,
present conditon medications, previois PT treaments

PROCEDURES FOR PATIENT ADMISSION




Orientation of the Patient
Coordinate with the attending physician, & carry out
initial orders.
Give pertinent treatment and instructions as needed.

Orientation of the Patient:
 - the equipments/ instrumets
- Use of call system, timer
- -Treatment Schedule
- Other mnembers of the rehabilitation team
- Departments patient/ companion related rules and
regulations
- Care of patients valuables


Open/ Arrange/ Fill-out the patient’s chart
SUMMARY
Admission is warranted for patient’s thorough
evaluation and treatment
 Admitted patients should be comfortable and
secured
 Admission should be individualized
 Admission involves patient reception, history taking,
patient orientation, coordination, patient chart
management and planning individualized treatment
program.


  • 6. PATIENT ADMISSION: PREPARATION OF THE UNIT Prepare the Treatment table  Ensure all the equipments are complete  Check Ventilation  Ensure patient’s privacy  Prepare the patient’s chart 

PROCEDURES OF PATIENT ADMISSION   Meet and receive the Patient Perform examination & evaluation procedure Meet and receive the Patient - Verify the patients data, by checking the record sheet, chart - - Introduce immediate personnel - - Assist patient to the treatment area - - Ask the patient o change clothes, into a hospital gown if necessary  Perform examination & evaluation procedure establish baseline values like vital signs, do history taking, present conditon medications, previois PT treaments 
