INTRODUCTION
Turkey officially the Republic of Turkey is a contiguous
transcontinental country, located mostly on Anatolia in
Western Asia and on East Thrace in South eastern
Europe.
 Turkey is bordered by eight countries.
 Turkey's location at the crossroads of Europe and Asia
makes it a country of significant geostrategic importance

Turkey's main exports markets are the EU, Iraq, Russia,
USA, United Arab Emirates and Iran.
Turkey's exports to the EU are mostly machinery and
transport equipment, followed by manufactured goods.
Imports into Turkey come from the following key markets: the
EU, Russia, China, USA, Iran and South Korea.
EU exports to Turkey are dominated by machinery and
transport material, chemical products and manufactured
goods.

in July of 2013 from 12404.94 USD Million in June of
2013.

1957 until 2013, reaching an all time high of 13755.22
USD Million in November of 2012 and a record low of
7.10 USD

MAJOR EXPORTS
Turkey major exports are: textiles and clothing,
automotive, iron and steel, white goods and
chemicals and pharmaceuticals.
 Turkey is also one of the leading shipbuilding
nations.
 Turkey's main export partners are European Union,
United States and Russia


Imports in Turkey increased to 22918.26 USD
Million in July of 2013 from 21009.15 USD Million in
June of 2013
 Turkey Imports averaged 3567.44 USD Million from
1957 until 2013,
 Reaching an all time high of 23245.70 USD Million
in May of 2013 and a record low of 15 USD Million
in August of 1958.

MAJOR IMPORTS
Turkey imports mainly machinery, chemicals, semifinished goods, fuels and transport equipment.
 Its principal trading partners are European Union
countries (Germany, United Kingdom, Italy, France),
Russia, China and United States


  • 10. FACTS ABOUT TURKEY      The EU is Turkey's number one import and export partner while Turkey ranks 7th in the EU's top import and 5th in export markets. Turkey's main exports markets are the EU, Iraq, Russia, USA, United Arab Emirates and Iran. Turkey's exports to the EU are mostly machinery and transport equipment, followed by manufactured goods. Imports into Turkey come from the following key markets: the EU, Russia, China, USA, Iran and South Korea. EU exports to Turkey are dominated by machinery and transport material, chemical products and manufactured goods.

  • 15. CONT’D Turkey recorded a Current Account deficit of 4445 USD Million in June of 2013  Turkey Current Account averaged -1141.85 USD Million from 1984 until 2013,  Reaching an all time high of 1132 USD Million in September of 1998 and a record low of -9518 USD Million in March of 2011. 
  • 17. CONT’D Exports in Turkey increased to 13112.54 USD Million in July of 2013 from 12404.94 USD Million in June of 2013.  Turkey Exports averaged 2210.61 USD Million from 1957 until 2013, reaching an all time high of 13755.22 USD Million in November of 2012 and a record low of 7.10 USD 
  • 18. MAJOR EXPORTS Turkey major exports are: textiles and clothing, automotive, iron and steel, white goods and chemicals and pharmaceuticals.  Turkey is also one of the leading shipbuilding nations.  Turkey's main export partners are European Union, United States and Russia 

CONT’D Imports in Turkey increased to 22918.26 USD Million in July of 2013 from 21009.15 USD Million in June of 2013  Turkey Imports averaged 3567.44 USD Million from 1957 until 2013,  Reaching an all time high of 23245.70 USD Million in May of 2013 and a record low of 15 USD Million in August of 1958. 
  • 21. MAJOR IMPORTS Turkey imports mainly machinery, chemicals, semifinished goods, fuels and transport equipment.  Its principal trading partners are European Union countries (Germany, United Kingdom, Italy, France), Russia, China and United States 
  • 22. RTA Free Trade Agreements have already been signed with 18 countries  EFTA, Israel, Macedonia, Croatia, Bosnia Herzegovina, Palestine, Tunisia, Morocco, Syria, Egypt, Albania, Georgia, Montenegro, Serbia, Chile, Jordan, Lebanon and Mauritius 
  • 23. FTA YET TO SIGNED  10 countries/group of countries (Algeria, Mexico, South Africa Customs Union, ASEAN, Indonesia, Peru, Mid-America Union, ACP Countries (76 countries), India and Canada).
