1. Stronsay Junior High School was lit up in red this year to show our support for the Scottish
Poppy Appeal.
The primary children also made themselves busy making poppy lanterns for display in the
school and Kirk windows. These were lit overnight on Sunday 10th November and Monday
11th November 2019 to show our respect.
Thank you to Sam and Toni-Anne for representing our school so beautifully at the Stronsay
Memorial Monument and laying a wreath at the service on Sunday. The school also held its
own memorial service at 11am on Monday the 11th
November. On this day every child was
gifted a packet of poppy seeds from Poppy Scotland as a symbol of hope.
We are now starting to collect the boxes of poppies and monies raised from the Poppy
Appeal across the island.
Thank you to all who have supported this honourable cause.
