Google Developer Student Clubs (GDSC) are community groups for college and
university students interested in Google developer technologies. By joining a
GDSC, students grow their knowledge in a peer-to-peer learning environment and
build solutions for local businesses and their communities.
Developer Student Club is an initiative by Google that aims to create university-
based communities for students interested in Google developer technologies
and flourish these communities with a technological mindset and a vision to
innovate-collaborate to build solutions for a better tomorrow.

6. What is GDSC?
This club is aimed at inspiring and training students who will encourage other
students on their campuses to learn newer areas of technologies that will equip
them with the right skill sets as they step out of college to join the workforce.
As this club is a Global community, everyone has access to reach out or connect
with people across the globe, learn things together, and solve problems together.
This club has a clear vision to nurture future developers and leaders and create a
pool of highly skilled tech workforce, which is readily employable by the Industry
and helps spur innovation.

The focus of technical societies primarily is to help
the students gain practical as well as theoretical
technical knowledge. Students are provided with an
opportunity to implement what they learn in respective
events and apply them in day to day life.This initiative
helps to develop team spirit, leadership and practical
skills. The motive of these societies is to make the
participant understand about objective of bieng an
engineer.

DSC was launched in 2017 as a pilot in India to help solve the challenges that
university graduates were facing in securing employment in the tech industry.
They aimed to provide students with the resources, opportunities, and
experience necessary to be industry ready, all while still pursuing their degrees.
Since then, the program has grown to Indonesia and Africa.

This year they are growing globally. From Asia to Africa; Europe, the Middle
East,
Australia, New Zealand, Latin America, and North America- DSCs are training
thousands of student developers and working with their communities to solve
real-life problems.
They are going to be in over 1000+ universities across the globe by Fall 2020!
