2. INTRODUCTION
• We are targeting the health sector in the 12th five year plan.
• One of the major aim of the 12th plan for health sector is to improve affordability
of healthcare by reducing Out of pocket expenditure.
• In order to provide cheap and effective medicines to the common mass, The
Government of India has come up with the `Jan Aushadhi’ project, under which
generic medicines are provided at very low price at the `jan-aadhar’ stores.
• So, to create awareness about generic medicines, we have come up with a simple
idea of a website which gives information about generic medicines as a
replacement for branded medicines.
• The app highlights the significant price difference between the two variations of
the same salt, promoting generic medicines.
