International understanding is the feelings that the individual is not only members of
his country, but also citizen of the world. International understanding is the ability to
critically and objectively observe and appraise the conduct of peoples every where
and thus makes valid judgement interactions .All over the world common man has
gained a very significant place in determining the fale of humanity as a whole. Of
late there has been a good deal of talk about creating a world of community. They
now the people concern. The narrow nationalism has led the world to catastrophic
wars. To love one country is desirable position at the same time,to late other countries
is note only undesirable but also suicidal .Narrow patriotism is the root of many ills
that lead to jealousy ,hatred, fear cold wars in the world. The doctrine of my country
right or wrong has fitted the people closely tight blinkers of nationalism. The
preambles of the UNESCO say since wars begin in the minds of men that the defence
of peace must be constructed’. .As war and peace are closely related to mind,
education is the most potential instrument for moulding desirable mental disposition
.International understanding can be developed only through the right type of
education which will provide awareness promote critical thinking .From healthy
attitudes, create desirable interest develop appreciation of all that is really beautiful
and in still noble values among the students.
AIMS OF EDUCATION-Internationalism
in education aims at the development of the ability in learns to
observe critically and appraise objectively to conduct of there is every where
irrespective of their nationality our culture for promotion of the international
understanding.

Respect of other people is sure is to be imbibed it we study the language spoken
by the majority of people .Emotional attachment with nations is stimulus to know
other people .Social science a subject of study has the maximum scope for creating a
sense of international understanding .Through an in depth study of history the student
should be made to understand appreciate different culture of world
METHOD OF TEACHNING
Any curriculum can be spoiled by a bad teacher any by poor teaching. While teaching
subject student s should be various impressed up on ideas world unity mutual co
operations independence faith in the humanity empathy and love universal
brotherhood
CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITES
The following co-curricular activities should be organised in the educational
institution
· Celebrate U .N.O day ,Human rights day and other day sponsored by
UNESCO Encourage students companionship with children of other countries
as pen friends
· Develop the habit of reading international news from news papers and
periodicals
· Arrange talks by person coming from foreign countries ,on various ascepts and
issues
Arrange students exchange programme
· Organising exhibition and fairs of toy on social and cultural lives of different
countries of the world
3. ROLE OF TEACHER
· His outlook and mental attitudes should reflect the spirit of internationalism
· He himself should have faith in, and enthusiasm for the value of international
understanding. He should infuse the same sprit of among his peoples
· By adopting appropriate strategies ,he should make his pupils
· He should kindle interest pupils to know more and more about other lands
and their peoples
ROLE OF THE UNSECO
To rehabilitate the devastated countries culturally and to for peace it performs the
following function
· International education exchange of teachers and students
· Organising tours to foreign countries camps as meeting place of student
different nations
· Organising student circles to know the need of other nations
· Writing history books with an international outlook
· Establishing international university to discuss common problem of nations
· Instituting international civil service
