 The main objective of this helmet is to save
the lives of the people who are working in
coal mines from the harmful gasses like
methane ,carbon monoxide.
 Coal as an important
source of energy in
industrial application.it
plays a pivotal role in
national economy.
 But,coal mines
accidents were
unpredictable and it has
many factors for the
event of an accidents.
 ZIGBEE TECHNOLOGY:
The zigbee protocol the only international standard wireless
sensor network protocol in existence ,catering to the specific
needs of low power ,low cost low maintenance monitoring and
control systems with talks of using it in sensor networks.
Direct sequence spread-spectrum at 2.4GHZ ,915MHZ(US) and
868MHZ(EUROPE) is applied in industrial,scientific and medical
fequency band.
 Low power consumption
 Batterylife ranging from months to years
 High security
 Applicable to upto 30feet distances
 Provides noise free communication
 PIC Microcontroller
 LCD
 Power supply
 Zigbee module
 ADC(voice decoder)
 Temperature sensor
 Humidity sensor
 Gas sensor
 Buzzer


 Here we are using 2×16 Alpha numeric LCD
 Here we are using three types sensors based
on the requirement,they are
 Temperature sensor
 Humidity sensor
 Gas sensor
 Here we are using LM35 precision centigrade
temperature sensor.
 LM35 not require any external calibration or
trimming to provide typical accuracies over a
full-55℃ to +150 ℃ temperature range.
 Low cost enough
 The HIH-5030 Low voltage humidity sensors
operate down to 2.7v.
 The gas sensor is used to detect the released
in the mining areas. To detect which gasses
are releasing in high quantity.
 Buzzer is used to give indications in case of
any emergency
• Safety monitoring of the environment
• Improved services in coal mining
• Provides wireless connection security
• Quick searching and can be able to give the warning
• Low cost
• To the persons who are working in the
underground
• Can be used at any wheather conditions
 It is reliable system with quick and easy
installation.
 With zigbee wireless positioning devices,it will
improve system scalability and accurate position of
underground miners in future.
 Thus,I conclude that we engineers must contribute
ourselves to invent new technologies in order to
prevent the accidents
