About API 5L Pipes
 API is an abbreviation for American Petroleum Institute it
covers seamless and welded line pipe.
 The purpose of this specification is to provide standards for pipe
suitable for use in conveying gas, water, and oil in both the oil and
natural gas industries. The API 5l specification establishes
requirements for two product specification levels (PSL1 and PSL2).
 These two PSL designations define different levels of standard
technical requirements. PSL 2 has mandatory requirements for
carbon equivalent, notch toughness, maximum yield strength and
maximum tensile strength.
 The PSL designation has to be defined by the customer at the time
of order placement. EEW will produce pipes to PSL 1 if no PSL
level has been defined at the time of order placement.

API 5L Gr.B PSL2 Pipe is a variant of API 5L. API stands for
American Petroleum Institute. Specifications for API 5L
adhere to the International Organization for Standardization
ISO 3183 These are steel pipes which come in differing wall
thicknesses and this is defined by the variant a customer
chooses for. For API 5L Gr.B PSL2 Pipe, the wall thickness
and other requirements are different than other API 5L
variants. Both welded and seamless pipes are available in this
range. There are various grades of these pipes available from
X42 to X80.

About DSAW , LSAW and Seamless Pipes
 Double submerged arc welded pipe (DSAW) derives its name from the
welding process wherein the welding arc is submerged in flux while
the welding takes place. Both inside and outside welds are required
and are usually accomplished in separate processes, hence the word
"double
 In LSAW pipes, the welding is longitudinal, which means that steel
(hot rolled coil plate) is rolled into a pipe and the seam is welded
longitudinally.
 Seamless (SMLS) pipe is formed by drawing a solid billet over a
piercing rod to create the hollow shell. As the manufacturing process
does not include any welding, seamless pipes are perceived to be
stronger and more reliable
