Understand Components About Stress in the
Workplace
Jeffery David Whippo explains how poor mental health and stress can
negatively affect the job performance and productivity of the employees.
According to him, it will also affect their engagement with other’s work and
communication with co-workers. The employees at high risk of depression
have the highest health care costs during the three years after an initial
health risk assessment.
Thus, by addressing the mental health issues in the workplace, employers
can reduce health care costs for their businesses and employees. These
workplace wellness programs can identify those at risk and connect them
to treatment and put in place supports to help people reduce and manage
stress.
Considering stress in the workplace, Jeffery D Whippo believes that it is
important to understand the components about stress, situations that
induce it, and employee responses to stress. It can help both you and your
staff effectively manage stress and change.
Whippo further shares that the measures that employers take to prevent
stress in the workplace will depend on aspects of the business and what
causes of stress they have identified.
