Case Study – Room for the River
Explore a complex technical project from a
completely non-technical perspective; choices are
now the result of negotiation.
The Room for the River project involved a
national effort to implement projects which
would reduce the risk of flooding.
Our fictive task was to design a decision-making
process for this project.
Specific focus given to the NIMBY effect,
stimulating progress, and using the threat of
hierarchical power.

Case Study – Institutional Design
Redesign the institution of the American Federal Reserve.
Methods used: the four-layer model of New Institutional
Economics, Property Rights Theory, Principal-Agent
Theory, and Transaction Cost Economics.

Knowing what SEPAM is gives you some insight into the
broad range of multi-disciplinary themes which I have
studied.
Based on the skills I have acquired, I am able to deal with
complex systems, analysis on multiple levels, and
combining technical and organizational aspects together.
