The document discusses various technologies the student used to create their product and what they learned from using each one. For Photoshop, the student learned how to insert and edit images, add text, and use tools like the lasso tool and opacity tool. For Quark, the student struggled at first but learned to import images and add text. Slideshare allowed the student to upload PowerPoint presentations to their blog. The student's camera took good quality photos and they were familiar with how to use it. A voice recorder let the student record and replay their evaluation. Prezi was useful for creating presentations. Xtranormal let the student create animated videos. Zoomerang created graphs from an online questionnaire the student used for

Learnings from creating digital magazine in Photoshop and Quark
1. Q6. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing the product? EVALUATION
2. Photoshop http://www.guidebookgallery.org/pics/apps/photoshop/about/aboutbox/700.png Photoshop has helped me a lot during the process of this product as it is the software that I had to use to create my front cover I was very good at using it as I had used it before and I really enjoyed using it. Something's I had to recap on just to make sure I new what it was I was going to need to use. Photoshop helped in many ways for example inserting my main image, it was really simple to resize and reshape it to how I wanted it to be e.g. I used the lasso tool as it was the best way to crop the image, also I found out how to brighten the image so that it wasn’t as dark and specific features on the models body could been seen more clearly. Text was also easy to use I new how to change font, colours and size. Another really good thing about Photoshop it that when I was creating some graphics for example the black bar on the left side of my front cover was really heavy on top of my central image, so I could use the opacity tool to make it a little more see through and less dark on top of the image also i could put coverlines down the side to make my magazine more professional. I also enjoyed being creative with the tools and changing the colours, fonts, boldness, I was able to add drop shadows on specific text/words so they could stand out more. Altogether I have really enjoyed using this software and I hope to use it again. It has really help with creating this product and I feel I have made great progress and I have also lernt much more about Photoshop.
3. Quark I have found Quark a little more difficult compared to Photoshop as you only have a specific amount of tools and things were a little harder to get used to as it was the first time I had used it. I eventually got the hang of using Quark but I do prefer Photoshop. I found it difficult as there where only two shapes that could be used which was a star and rectangle. I had to copy and paste an arrow shape from word to Quark as I needed to use this in my contents. It was okay when importing images but cropping them and measuring them to the right length and size was different compared to Photoshop as you couldn’t use tool like the lasso tool. We had to fit the image into a box and then we needed to move it to were we wanted it to go. Adding text was pretty simple and wasn’t really hard at all just simply typing into the text box! As I started off in a struggle I soon became more used to how Quark worked an I enjoyed creating my contents and double page spread using this software I found it easier creating my double page spread as I knew what I was doing. I feel that It was more effective on my contents page then it was my double page spread because it is not as good as my contents page and looks a little less professional. Overall I feel I have made good progress with this software and I would like to use it more so I can learn more things and get better at using it.
4. Slideshare Slideshare was a brilliant help whilst constructing my product as a lot of my work involved using PowerPoint, and this website allowed me to put them onto my blog. It was very easy to use, all you have to do really is make sure that your PowerPoint presentation has been saved in a place where you know where you can find it, login to slideshare and upload you chosen presentation. It was very useful to use. However it was the only way of getting PowerPoint on to my blog, but it didn’t really matter because it was easy to use, this created a big impact on my work as I was able to use PowerPoint and not have to change my work, I just had to upload it. The only problem with slideshare was the fat you couldn’t upload any moving images or sound Some of the work I had to up load again and again, only because in some of the slides the writing couldn’t be seen so I have to fit the box right so that when I out it on my blog it didn’t look messy and so that people could read it. Altogether this technology has been a really great help me with my work.
5. Camera This camera was really good to use and it had great quality, which made my images more effective for the magazine. It was very easy to use and I could change it so I could take photographs in black and white this looked very effective on my front cover, which created a very interesting impact. I really like using this camera as it is my own, so I am very used to handling it. It was nice to be able to use it for my school work as I know how to use it, it would have made it a little difficult if I was using a camera I had never used before.
6. Voice recorder I used the voice recorder in question 7 of the evaluation, it has been very helpful, as I could record over and over, and I had messed up quite a few times and I was able to erase the work I had done so that I could restart. I was able to listen over and over to make sure I had got it right and if I didn’t I could go over it again. This technology was very effective as it very easy to use and the sound was very clear. It was very useful for the evaluation and I would consider use this piece of technology again.
7. Prezi.com Prezi.com is a presentation software where you are able to create zooming presentations that allow you to share ideas and upload. At first I was really unsure how to use prezi , but as I started to play around with it and use it more I was then able to create much more attractive presentations, there are a variety of tools that can be used. It is quite similar to word, as you can change colour of the background and you can change font, size and colour, you can use arrow tool and upload images. It has been really good to work with and has been very helpful during the course.
8. Xtranormal Xtranormal is a website that hosts text-to-speech based computer animated video clips, using animated three-dimensional characters speaking in monotone computer voices. To use this you need to log into the site and then you can create videos by scripting the dialog and choosing from a menu of camera angles and predesigned characters and scenes. This was really fun to work with and it was really enjoyable, it was a great way to present my work and I found it really easy to design and create.
9. Zoomerang I used zoomerang to create an online questionnaire for my audience feedback, this really helped me because as well as creating a questionnaire it also took a record from all the results and created graphs, so that I was able to use them to show and explain the answers that were given. I found it really easy to use as it was a really quick way to get my feedback. I would gladly use this software again as it was very simple to create and use.
