thinner also known as hobble
skirts.
Would usually use silk with

 Corsets were used to
shrink your waist but the
woman who wore them
would often pass out.
 Petticoats were to keep
the dome shape of there
skirts.

4.  Gloves, purses, parasols(umbrella), fans,
and jewelry (Cameo necklaces)
 The woman would carry parasols to
keep there face out of the sun because
it was important to be pale.
 For there jewelry they would often use
pearls and cameo necklaces, which had
faces on the charms.

5. •Stylesof hats and bonnets
have changed from time
periods of 1844 to 1870.
• The hats were mostly worn
to important events more
than bonnets.

often wear boots
that had long and
high laces, known
as steeple boots.
•The picture on the
left are old vintage
shoes.

7. •In around 1870
chatelaine bags
became a fad. They
would hang from the
woman’s wrist or
waist.
•These fashions were
inspired by queen
Victoria.

8. •On the woman’s wedding
days they would wear white
gloves.
•When they would go to the
opera the woman would also
where gloves especially
when it was cold.
