5. Introduction
Let me declare upfront that I have written this book
for those people who do not have any idea of “Online
Income” and those who have heard of it but never
tried it. But, people who are already in online income
or have some idea on the matter also could read my
book and may find some valuables here and there.
Possibility is that they could re-organize them finding
some new direction in my book.
My position was as same as you couples of years
back, when I was almost forced to decide that I have
to go for online income. I pushed myself forward a
long way from there. It was hard to overcome each
hurdle because I was not prepared! I made mistakes
after mistakes. Why? Because I was not prepared. I
had to go back N' forth to sort-out things after
making each mistake. I had to start all over again a
couple of times because I was heading towards
wrong direction. The journeys were hard and
agonizing. All that happened just because I was not
looking before I leaped. I didn't take proper
preparation. Worst of all, I didn't know how to
prepare myself.

6. I have been through many online-income manuals
and programs. My online journey started with such a
marvelous online-money making program. They
said, just get a domain name and forward to them,
and they will provide everything else needed to
start. The result is, I registered with the ugliest and
the most impractical domain name on earth! Why?
Because I had no idea what a domain name was,
why it is needed and what is the process to come up
with the right domain name for my purpose. But it
was just the beginning! I made mistakes in every
stage as I carried myself forward.
Many times it appeared to me that, if I had to start
my online-income journey all over again, how would
I start? What are the issues I would address first?
How would I prepare myself so that I could have a
struggle-free online-income journey from the very
beginning? The answer of all these questions, I have
outlined in this book; this is how I would prepare
myself before leaping into the online-income world.

7. Chapter1: Mind Set
First thing first. You want to try online-income that's
okay. But let me ask you few questions regarding
this.
The first question is, why you want to try online-
income in the first place? What made you decide that
you should try? Do you need the money that bad? I
know, everybody needs money. But how bad you
need it? Do you have a ton of loans to pay? Do you
need to buy a new car or a new house soon? Do you
need the money for your retirement? Or for the
yearly trip with your family? Is that it, that one of
your friends making good online-money, and you
want to do the same? Is that it, that suddenly some
online biz opp popped up in your computer, and you
got interested?
The next question is, what exactly you want to
achieve? Rather, I want to ask how much you want
to achieve? How much per day, how much per week,
how much per month and how much per Annam?
How much you want in five years time, or ten years
time?
Ask these questions to you and think out the
answers. Make a clear picture on it. You have to
determine where you want to reach. You'll reach

8. nowhere if you do not know where to go. You must
set your target. You must set your goal. Your mind
will be set to drive you there if you could set your
goal.
Let's say, you drive from home to office and office to
home five days a week. When you drive from home
to your office, it is not that you stay conscious on the
direction of the road all the time. Maybe, you are
thinking about the party you had last night while
driving or the row you had with your wife. But your
sub-conscious mind takes you to the right direction.
It happens all the time! It happens because the goal
is already set, and your mind knows that. Your mind
will do possibly everything to achieve the goal if it is
set!
I think you already got my point. Yes, you have to
set your goal first to start online-income. Mindset is
important here. Right kind of mindset means you
have completed the first step and the most
important step of your preparation.
I know, most of you thinking; these are not new to
us- we know all these! Let me tell you, there is a big
difference between knowing and doing. Most of us
know these things but hardly make practical
implication in reality. Generally, it is because most of
us don't know the practical way of implementation.

9. One of the important aspects of goal setting is
dreaming.... and dreaming big. Dream what you
want from online-income. Don't be afraid to dream
big. Do not let your previous failures or your inner
consciousness stop you from dreaming big. Dream
anything that is achievable for a human-being in the
current social system. It does not matter if it is the X
amount of money or a private yacht or a villa in the
Caribbean. Dream as you please!
Okay, let me show the process of goal setting to goal
achieving and how to put it into practice. Take a pen
and paper and write down all of your dreams. Hey,
don't be reluctant. Don't be shy! It is only you;
nobody is seeing!
Writing down your goal is too important. Don't think,
“okay I'll keep my goals in the back of my mind”.
Please don't. Write it down and put it in a place
where you can go through it time to time. That's
what 5% successful people do. That's what 95% of
the others don't do. That's the difference.
Writing down your goals in a piece of paper and
going through it every now and then will prepare
your mind to achieve your goals, like driving your car
unconsciously. It would be easy to set your strategic
plans and your work-out plans to achieve your goals.

10. So before you go further of this book, you should
think about your dreams and goals and write it
down. It will be handy to prepare your plan of
actions when you finish this book. So, let's get to the
next important issue to be addressed in the
preparation process of online-income.

11. Chapter2: Making a Habit of Writing
You have to write. You have to make a habit of
writing if you want to be prepared for online-income.
Well now, hold on a second! I know some of you,
probably most of you are already in panic thinking- I
cannot write a sentence! Well, I want to welcome
you abroad in my boat. I'm with you! Believe me, I
was as panicked as you to know that I have to write
my own content.
Listen to me. “It is not as hard as you are thinking."
Please do not think that I am making the statement
only to convince you. No, I'm not. This statement
came from deep inside of my heart. I believe it's
true. True for everybody! Like all the Internet
marketer, I believe that writing content for Internet
marketing is not a big deal.
Hey, nobody asking you to be Ernest Hemingway
here! You just have to put your thoughts into
writing, in plain simple English. You think you cannot
write at the moment. I only half-believe you. Let me
ask you a question: Can you talk? If you can, it is
also possible to transform those 'talking' into
'writing'. It's only a matter of practice.
Some people think they cannot write, but they write
thousand-word emails to their friends about a nice

12. trip they enjoyed! Writing web content is just like
that. It is like writing an email to your friend in plain
and simple English.
Last of all I want to say, do not let the fear of writing
be the cause...the cause of quitting from the journey
to achieve your goals. Believe me, it's not worth that
much. Of course, you have to learn a few web-
content writing techniques. But it's not big deal
either; especially, when you are mentally prepared
yourself that you are going to write if it's needed. All
the rest needed to write will come automatically as
you progress, be assured.
If you want to ask, is there any way round? I would
say no. There are few online-income methods that
need less writing, that's all. But you have to write ad
copies there at least. Only way to bypass writing is
to pay others to write your contents. You can take
that route if you can afford it- no problem. But let
me urge to you once more, do not let 'writing' be the
cause of your quitting! It's not worth it.

13. Chapter3: Understanding Internet Market and
Internet Niche Market
As a preparation to join online-income, you need to
understand the Internet market and the Internet
niche market.
You can call it an online market, where a community
of people with common interests meet online and
share with each other. To share common interests, it
does not matter where the people live. A person
from South Africa playing golf share a common
interest with a golfer of USA. And they can share it
in the online market place.
A niche is further break-down of an online market. If
“gardening” is the market, then you can call
'gardening equipments' or 'kitchen-gardening' a
niche. A niche could be broken-down to sub-niches.
Like 'kitchen-garden soiling' or 'kitchen-garden
equipments', etc.
Once you grasp the concept of community with
common interest, you'll realize the possibility of
hundreds and hundreds of online community, online
markets, niches and sub-niches waiting to be
explored.
It'll be easier to determine where you best fit in this
world-wide market once you understand the concept

14. of Internet market, niche and sub-niche. Internet
market is broad and huge. You have to locate your
best corner, your best niche.
Now, it is time to focus on yourself. What do you do?
What are you good at? Do you have any hobby? Is
there anything that doing it makes you happy and
content? Do you have any skills? Maybe you are
good at car engines? Maybe, you are a good plumber
or a good guitarist? Find out, find out the best thing
you can do and doing it makes you happy and
content. That's the niche or sub-niche you belong to.
That's the community you can contribute the most
and can make money on the process. To make
money online, you have to help other people's
problem by contributing, by sharing your knowledge
on your niche. And you can make money on the
process.
Some people think that they do not have any
hobbies, they do not have any skills; they aren't
good at anything, and no work on earth can give
them pleasure! I don't believe them. I believe they
are just failing to discover themselves. Even though,
they can work-out a niche where they can make
money contributing.
Are you one of them? Okay no problem, don't you
use many things in daily life? Gears, equipments,

15. machinery, utensils, furniture anything? Aren't you
satisfied using some of them? Perhaps your washing
machine? Or a particular brand of the coffee-
machine or tooth brush? Perhaps the cell phone you
use? Perhaps the sofa you are using for ten years?
Think it as your niche whatever item gives the most
satisfaction using. As a satisfied user, you are the
right person to share its value to your online
community. Got my point? Finding right niche for you
is not hard, it only varies person to person.

16. Chapter4: Making a Habit of Searching and
Reading
Like writing, you have to make a habit of reading as
well. You have to grow the right concept of Internet
marketing as a whole. You also have to have the in-
depth concept on your niche. Otherwise, your
contribution to your niche may appear vague.
Now-a-days, search engines made everything
available to our finger tips. Knowing a thing has
become so easy!
Internet marketing is a pretty broader niche. There
are hundreds and hundreds of terms in use in this
niche. Eventually, you have to make the proper
concept of each term. You have to do the same for
your niche as well.
So, here is what you have to do. Whenever
something appears unclear to you in your online-
income journey, don't skip, type it in the search
engine like Google or Yahoo or Bing or whatever
search engine you use. Read thoroughly and make
the right concept on it. If you want to listen to or
want to visualize, say some installation process of
something, go to the YouTube search engine and
watch a video.

17. Make a habit of using search engines and reading in
your online-income journey. Here I like to give you a
list of terms- consider it as your homework. You
should build a proper concept on these terms as a
part of the preparation for the online-income:
“Online market," “niche market, “keyword," “domain
name, “web hosting," “Email marketing,” “online
payment processor," “affiliate-product market-
place," “role of social media in the Internet
marketing."
Deliberately I kept the list as short as possible. The
list will grow as you carry yourself forward. It is
important to build right concept on these terms. It
will save you from doing mistakes right from the
beginning.

18. Chapter5: Joining Forums Of Your Niche
After you have completed your homework, it is time
to move one step forward. In this stage, you have to
join a few forums on your niche. I consider this step
as the most practical step for your preparation.
Select some of the popular forums in your niche.
Finding is easy if you have already adopted the habit
of searching. Just type it in your search engine. If
your niche is dog training, type “dog training forums”
in your search engine, for golf niche, type “golf
forums."
I started my online journey aiming at “make money
online" niche, the most popular and crowded niches
of all. I found a forum named, “warrior forum” in my
niche. I became a member and started to read other
member's posts immediately. Believe me, it was one
of the worst experiences in my life. I was not
understanding what they are saying! Every
discussion appeared to me as if they are talking with
some alien language, not in English.
Now, I know the reason for that experience. It was
only because the lack of my preparation. I was not
properly prepared to join the forum.
I believe you do not have to go through the same
experience if you make proper preparation as I

19. suggested. The homework thing I gave you is too
important. Please do it before you join your niche
forums.
Okay, what to do after you join forums? First, you
know the forum rules, and then you start reading
other members posts. Take help of search engine if
you do not understand a term or an issue. Do this
for a week or two. Within weeks, you'll be enough
acknowledged to participate in the posts, start
conversation, answer a post etc. Start asking
questions related to your niche. This back and forth
in forums will mature your concept about your niche.
You'll get many tips also learn few tricks of your
niche there.

20. Chapter6: Taking Precaution
I wanted to add one more chapter named “Online
Coaching." But later I decided not to. Online
coaching could be a good alternative of taking
preparation. A good online coach would prepare you
in the correct direction for your online-income. But
later I thought choosing the right online coach would
be a daunting task in this early stage. You must have
that much knowledge to understand which online-
coach to avoid and which one to go with.
Like picking online-coach, there are hundreds of
other things you have to take a precaution in the
Internet. Online world is full of offers. You cannot
overlook sudden pop-up advertisements all the time!
There will be hundreds of emails full of offers at your
in-box. These things will increase with the increased
online presence of you.
Most of the Internet offers shine like gold. The sales
letters of the offers have the power to make you
think, “living without this would be meaningless, I
must acquire this one.” When you have purchased
this one, another offer will shine in front you like a
diamond!

21. I am not saying all those offers are vague, I am
saying that don't go for any offer until you are
properly prepared. Make a habit of restrain yourself
from anything that shines. Avoid every offer until
you finish your basic preparation. Take yourself in
that stage from where you can judge an offer by its
merits. First, you have to learn how to judge an
offer. You have to learn to judge if it really needed
for you. If you do not do that your hard drive will be
of full of unnecessary junk. You'll lose not only
money but your precious time and effort to
implement whatever you purchased and then
discarded it half-way.

22. Conclusion
We are done with preparing ourselves for online-
income, aren't we! My aim was to make you fully
prepared for online-income. So that you do not have
a make a bunch of mistakes in the early stage and
learn from your mistakes, like I did. Lesson could be
learned from the mistakes, but the waste of time,
effort and money could be painful and discouraging.
And believe me, coming back and starting all over
again after making a mistake is a daunting task.
Many people quit at this point.
However, I do believe that you could start your
online-income effortlessly if you follow the
instructions in this book. Following the instructions
will not make you an expert of online-income. But it
will give you the confidence that you need to start
your online-income journey.
