Brooking Park Directors’ bios SA-BP1108 December 15, 2011, 12/19/11, 12/20/11, 1/3/2012 Linda Hagler-Reid, Executive Director With a warm smile and endearing heart, Linda Hagler-Reid oversees the day-to-day operations of Brooking Park, as well as its Independent Living community—The Willows at Brooking Park—on the same campus. She makes a difference in the lives of Brooking Park and The Willows with her hands-on approach to person-centered care. You will find her at campus events and training Brooking Park’s uniquely caring staff, as well as speaking one-on-one with residents and mentoring key personnel. Programming at Brooking Park that meets the resident’s needs of holistic wellbeing and community connection is influenced by her wealth of knowledge accumulated over more than 30 years, most recently as CEO of a Continuing Care Retirement Community in West Plains, Missouri. Her service-oriented philosophy is also found in Brooking Park programs that enhance resident independence and satisfaction. A graduate of Webster University, Linda is a proven leader in the senior living industry and has received numerous accolades, including the LeadingAge Kansas State Association Innovation of the Year Award and Clinical Excellence Award, as well as the American College of Health CareAdministrators Facility Leader Award. Donna Mattingly, Director of Activities Donna Mattingly is a compassionate leader who has been with Brooking Park for more than 7½ years. Whether it’s coordinating Brooking Park’s music therapy program or pet friendly activities, Donna’s focuses on resident’s interests and improving daily living skills, promoting social interaction, increasing their physical activity and expanding their learning overall. She graduated from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau with a bachelor’s degree in recreation with an emphasis in therapeutic recreation and a minor in gerontology. Chuck White, Director of Dining Services Chuck White coordinates the creation of menus and oversees all aspects of dining services. The delicious, culinary fare that residents relishevery day in Brooking Park’s dining room is designed with their health and enjoyment in mind.
  2. He has more than 15 years of experience, as well as holds a degree in restaurant management, ensuring the highest-quality meals are served every day. With culinary school training and having the distinction of being certified as a chef by the American Culinary Federation, Chuck has worked for several different organizations, including a country club. However, his desire to give back to the community through his passion for food led him to Brooking Park. Deborah Williams, Director of Nursing With more than 7 years of experience as a director of nursing, Deborah Williams has progressive knowledge of the health care field. She supervises and coordinates all health-related services for residents of Brooking Park. Deborah works with the Brooking Park team in assessing resident’s nursing needs and coordinates resident care management with non-nursing services that enhance the quality of life of our residents while ensuring seamless continuity of their overall personalized care program. Her background includes hospital-based nursing, as well as having worked as the director of an acute rehabilitation and nursing program in Illinois. She is skilled in building and developing strong relationships with key stakeholders and was awarded Nurse of the Year by the physicians at Forest Park Hospital, as well as Charge Nurse of the Year prior to that by the Missouri Directors of Nursing. Sharon Barnhart, Director of Social Services Sharon Barnhart is a resident advocate whoprovides services that meet the social, emotional, and psychological needs of Brooking Park residents. With 13 years of experience in social services—more than 6 here at Brooking Park—Sharon has always enjoyed working with seniors. She maintains relationships with community partners in the Chesterfield area and beyond to help residents live life to the fullest and continue their development. She is a graduate of Purdue University and holds a degree in health care and family services. While in school, she worked for a long-term care organization in various departments, where she fostered her desire to continue working with seniors after college.
