People with obsessive-compulsive disorder feel compelled to perform time-consuming and disruptive rituals like washing their hands constantly or repeating certain phrases.

I chose this career because I think its really cool to help people, and also psychiatry is really hard but in the long run worth it.

Some work closely with family doctors, social workers, and nurses. They work 60 hours a week, and may be on call when not working. The work can be stressful and emotionally draining

While in medical school, you concentrate your electives on psychiatry. After completing medical school, you are a doctor, but you still have to do a period of on-the-job training called a residency. The residency period for psychiatrists is usually 4 years. At the end of your residency, you have to pass a licensing exam to practice psychiatry in your state. Some psychiatrists choose to specialize in a sub-field, such as child and adolescent psychiatry or forensic psychiatry. Specialization requires an additional 1 to 2 years of training.

9. Summary Yes, this career is still very appealing to me. Because I like they challenge it gives and also that you never know what is going to happen the next day. It fits my personality type perfect. I’m a very friendly and love helping people out when I can.
