1) The document discusses a student project investigating the connection between economic situation, school, and addictions like smoking and drinking.
2) The project aims to survey both middle and high school students to understand susceptibility to addiction based on factors like religion, peer influence, and family situations.
3) The conclusion calls on everyone to do their part in preventing student addiction through education and by not providing means for or encouraging addictive behaviors.
5. Economic Situation We believe that no matter the money students have, all are vulnerable to tobacco and alcohol. We plan to bust the myth that richer students with better education are less prone to fall into an addiction like tobacco or alcohol.
6. School This whole project is done by students, and directed at students. Therefore in a school environment. All our surveys are done to students. We plan to prove that students in middle school are more susceptible to fall in bad habits like smoking and drinking, which could later transform into addictions.
7. What exactly is an addiction ? The state of being enslaved to a habit or practice or to something that is psychologically or physically habit-forming, as narcotics, to such an extent that its cessation causes severe trauma. Consequences Sooner rather than later you will have other problems that derive from having a smoking or drinking addiction. The most common example in students is they will worry about cigarettes more than their grades, therefore loosing valuable time, and getting bad grades.
8. The Survey We will survey 2 main crowds, middle scholars and high scholars. We interviewed 10 students, half and half.
17. Who do you think is most affected by addictions? Many younger kids think they should hide this from their parents so it won’t hurt them, but this only makes the matters worse.
18. Do you know a minor in middle school who is addicted to smoking or drinking?
19. Facts This isn’t the most precise investigation but it comes really close to reality. About the last question, It’s sad but true, we all know a person in middle school addicted to smoking or drinking. The study was done in Mexico. The economic situation varied from person to person.
20. Take action We should all try to stop this. No matter what we do, or who we are, we are all affected by this. We should never encourage addictions. We shouldn’t peer pressure our friends into addictions. We shouldn’t provide the mediums for students to fall. As adults we should be honest and not help nor provide students with the mediums to fall. We shouldn’t be an example ourselves.
21. Conclusion Do your part and help a student by warning him of the dangers, educating him and making him strong for what leys ahead. In this modern day and age many students of middle school are involved in smoking and drinking. They fall into an addiction and can never get out. As they slowly die, and as they fail in life, it is our mission to help them. The cure is education for a better life.
