Film Review: The Breakfast Club
After analyzing the film The Breakfast Club, I have come to the conclusion that this movie
initials a lot of reality to the story line from a bunch of teenagers who are all just trying to live life
with each character telling their own ways of how they are shown through the school, and how
they have become who they are. I have chosen to write about Andrew because I can relate to him
with sports and how his parents connect with mine. When we first saw Andrew in the movie
having his dad drop him off, his dad said," Now I did the same stuff you did, but I didn't get caught
unlike you." Now that sentence says a lot in just the first line with how he's treated with discipline.
The reason why he got to detention was because he duck tapped

Movie The Way Analysis
Although countless people convince themselves they are open minded, they may actually have
enclosed themselves in a prison of ignorance. For example, spending the majority of time with
friends who share a common upbringing sounds satisfying, but it does not provide much variety
of experience and exposure to new viewpoints and ideas. Simply reading a book, such as an
autobiography, or seeing a movie set in a different time or place, can illustrate multiple viewpoints
and diverse experiences. For example, the movie The Way (2010), is the story of a man whose son
dies while hiking the El Camino trail in the Pyrenees of France and Spain. The father decides to
complete the pilgrimage himself in honor of his son and learns about himself and

Introduction Beowulf is an epic from England. It is a story of a brave man who killed many
monsters and died defending from a dragon. It is also a great story of adventure. From an old
English poem, it became a 3D movie with the faces of real actors and actresses. Although there has
a difference from the original poem, it still showed great and it attracted wide audiences.
Throughout the movie review, I gave my own opinions about the movie especially in the effects,
how the characters played their role, and how they captured the eye of the audiences.

I can't even remember the soundtrack or the music played in this movie. So it is really a great factor
that every director must consider so that the audiences will be keeping in touch with the movie.
Conclusion
I therefore conclude that Beowulf movie, as a whole, is a great animated epic tale with just some
revisions from the original one is still a great movie and very fun to watch. Mr. Robert Zemeckis
and the other producers and casts had job well done. They were able to show the audiences the
story of a brave man who fought and died in killing monsters.

admired, abandoned her when he went to jail. Every student in the class was facing a war of their

open up to Ms. G. As the movie unfolds, we see many struggles and instants of courage. There are
bleak moments and proud ones and the journey is emotional to say the least. Definitely watch this
movie if you have two hours to kill. Scratch that. Even if you don't have two hours make time to
go see "Freedom Writers." None of the actors are going to win Oscars, but at least they made the
characters memorable. We will forever remember Andre, the homeless teenager whose face is full
of vulnerability and passion, and Mario the angry drug dealer. There will be moments of borderline
cheesiness, but you aren't watching the movie for the acting. You sit down in that creaky movie
theater chair to be entertained with stories of heartbreak and war and loss. You're there to be
inspired; to know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. The powerful first–person narratives
are sure to inspire through subtle and some not so subtle messages. Each character has a unique
story that they bring to the table (err, screen). "Freedom Writers" will be a must–see in no time.

Iron Man Review
In a world where Hollywood–endorsed B–grade comic book films have dominated the Box Office
reaped the financial benefits accordingly, Iron Man offers a relieving reprieve with a film which is
both entertaining and well made. A strong lead and outstanding visuals cements Iron Man as one of
my favourite mainstream films of 2008.
From the start the suave, whisky–wielding billionaire Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr) establishes
himself as a strong and likeable character. He made an armoured Humvee journey through the

As mentioned previously the special effects in Iron Man are outstanding. They make the suit really
shine onscreen; from the slight sheen of distant lights reflected of the computer generated metal of
the Mark III armour to the grafted, roughly hewn Frankestein–like concept each suit seems real,
weighted to an extent where they seem like characters of their own. Jarvis, Tony's computer, takes
on a life of its own inside the suit and out, blending real world mechanics and near–future sciences
fiction and blending the two with special effects to make seemingly plausible super science. It
wasn't a case of silly gimmicks such as cell–phone sonar's or shoe phones, Iron Man's gadgets are
not only useful but seem like naturally evolved ideas conceptualised by real scientists as opposed to
being dreamt up by artists who never grew up.
Iron Man the film other comic book films such as the Hulk and Spiderman should have been. Not
some frivolous fan wank which stuck to the source material with Biblical dedication, but which
opened its premise to new interpretation and re imagination. Yes, ultimately it is still derived from
a source material written for 14 year olds so suffers from a degree of tameness accordingly, but
with the help of some strong performances, strong writing and some damn fine effects, Iron Man
has gone above and beyond to make a genre–spanning film with a wide

Today, the movie industry has become a huge moneymaker in the entertainment business. You
cannot turn on the television without seeing advertisements for the next big blockbuster film.
While most of the films these days entertain with amazing special effects or raunchy comedy,
there are still films that thrive because of great acting, directing, and editing. Three films that I
believe would be great examples of the way these aspects can cause a film to excel are ?Any
Given Sunday?, ?The Cell?, and ?Almost Famous?. ?Any Given Sunday? shows how, by using
editing, a movie can portray an intense situation realistically. In ?The Cell?, color is used to

Panning shots of cheering fans and screaming coaches along with occasional shots of the game being
broadcast on a television with commentators giving their take on the action send the viewer back to
the reality that they are only watching the action and not participating in it. While watching this
movie you truly feel like you are in the game.
?The Cell?, instead of focusing on accurately portraying reality, takes you to the dream world.
Catherine Deane, played by Jennifer Lopez, is a child psychologist involved in an experimental
project that allows her to travel inside the mind of coma victims to try to draw them away from
their fears and thus out of their coma. This movie portrays the journey inside the mind much like
you would depict a dream. When Deane is inside a young child, whose main concern seems to be
a fear of the ?boogie man?, the world she enters is a beautiful desert scene where the sky is bright
blue with puffy white clouds. She is always dressed in bright white dresses and seems to glow.
This depicts that she has earned the child?s trust. All color is brighter in this dreamlike world.
Even though these experiments had not been successful bringing the child out of the coma, Dean
was able to learn a lot about the child. This caused a couple of detectives to approach her about
entering the mind of a serial killer who had slipped into a coma with the goal of discovering the
location of his most recent captive.

Jane Eyre : Movie Review Essay
Jane Eyre: Movie (2011) & Novel Comparison Jane Eyre is a story about a young women's
journey through her life that starts with her from a young age. She starts out as an orphaned girl
and is going through miserable times but eventually goes on to become her own person. On the
way she meets many unique people and learns more about herself and society. Her Journey is full
of surprises whether good or bad and she must make her own decisions about the situations. Some
issues she faces have to do with social class being a big part of determining what you could and
could not do. She also had to face issues of gender roles and independence during that time of
1760–1820. Lastly, there is also a great deal about her relationships and her love for Rochester. All
these ideas tie in together and some of these aspects are portrayed similarly in the Novel and the
Book but also have differences between the two. The Novel starts when Jane is a young girl and
showcases her as a mistreated orphan and is not happy about her situation because she feels that no
one is one her side. Jane even tells her aunt Mrs. Reed, "I am glad you are no relation of mine. I will
never call you aunt again as long as I live. I will never come to visit you when I am grown up; and if
any one asks me how I liked you, and how you treated me, I will say the very thought of you

Review Of The Movie ' The Intern '
The movie that I had selected to watch is 'The Intern'. It is a movie surrounding the life of a
retired husband whose wife had died of old age. It is about a 70 year old man name Ben
Whittaker coming out of retirement due to loneliness and felt the need to keep moving and fill
that hole in his heart. He decided to work for a fashion company who are looking for senior
interns run by Jules Ostin. Through a series of events, Jules and Ben had developed a trusting
relationship with each other as businesses partners and friends. Jules would not only come to Ben
for advice in regards to the company due to his many years of experience in business, she would
also go to Ben for relationship advice. Ben had been in a business company for many years and
through his experience, he was able to witness the leadership qualities that Jules had without her
own knowledge. Though this movie is a heartfelt movie, it displays Jules great leadership skills on
how she runs the company and motivates her employees. In this assignment, I will be exploring
Jules leadership within the company in positive and negative aspects.
In the beginning Jules' company was small but it quickly expanded as a result of the successful
response from her customers. As a leader, she was able to influence her workers to achieve a
common goal (Gentner, Module 11). She motivated her employees through trusting them, developed
other leaders, and achieved results (Gentner, Module 11). During a scene where Jules had already

Last summer, my family and I went to AMC Movie Theater in Cupertino and enjoyed a movie

Movies can be one form of news media and be reflective of our society and time.
Q. Do you believe that the movie rating system is necessary for current films?
Yes, definitely. Nowadays, there are too many films which contain violent and sexual contents. So,
it's very harmful for children or teenagers. Thus, it is inevitable to have rating system to distinguish
the people who can see the film from those who cannot.
Q. What do you think about the violence on TV or in films?
The violence on TV or in films is terrible nowadays. It seems like movie producers do not care
about innocent children or teenagers who might be affected by those horrible scenes. There was an
incidence that one child imitated the crime on a film and killed his brother. So, I think there should
be much strict laws against the violence on TV.
Q. Do you think movies are better recently than they were in the past?
As far as special effects are concerned, yes, movies are definitely better now. But I don't think the
stories are necessarily better than those produced in the past. In fact, I think a lot of the time movie
markers concentrate too much on special effects and forget about a plot.
Q. What sort of topics do movie producers consider for the films?
Since movies try to picture out the reality as well as

when the public is second–guessing is Harvey Dent played by Aaron Eckhart. He is the new district
attorney and is respected by the entire city for stopping corruption all over the town. He is a
clean–shaven man with blonde hair and blue eyes who presents himself as a very proper man.
This mise en scene proves that this man is a good man. If he were unshaven, had dark eyes, and
dark hair it would be hard to consider him a truly good man. The director realizes this may not be
true with everyone but it is a typical stereotype in our society today. As the movie goes on the
enemy, who is forcing him to second–guess his values, tests him time and time again. Being an
honest man is no longer putting criminals away; they are always one step ahead. By the end of the
film, the Joker crushes Harvey's values and blinds him from what his true goals were in life. His
two–sided face shows this visually after being burned in the explosion. Also, Harvey has a coin
with a head printed on both sides. This coin never can land on tails but Harvey

Essay On Shrek
Selecting a great comedy movie can be quite difficult since there are various types of movies out in
the market these days. However, the best kind of movies to watch are comedy films since they
allow many people to leave the Cinema feeling happy inside. Nonetheless, searching for a particular
comedy movie like Shrek would be the best option to choose since they have a total of four movies
previously released along with a new movie coming out in 2019. Yet the storyline of Shrek always
keeps everyone entertained with the hilarious embarrassing moments as well as the nice songs, and
happily ever after endings.
Trailers seen on YouTube shows exactly how funny the movie Shrek actually is, however the
easiest movie to remembered out of the rest would probably be Shrek from 2001. This movie was
not only the first movie released but was favored by many because Shrek rescues Fiona in the

Genre Analysis of Movie Review Essay
1. Introduction In recent years, movie class plays a more and more important role in English
teaching in China. Most teachers require students to write movie reviews after watching the movie.
However, how to write movie review is still remain unclear to students. Some student download a
review from the internet, and some write a summary of the movie instead. Genre analysis is a system
of analysis by which observations are made on the repeated communicative functions found in genres
and on the linguistic features of these functions (Brett, 1994). Genre knowledge played an important

The second level grammatical–rhetorical analysis aims to investigate the relationship between
grammatical choice and rhetorical function in written English for science and technology. Discourse
analysis as interaction represents the third level of language description. Most importantly,
interactional analysis outlines the concept of interpretation of discourse by the reader or listener.
Discourse analysis appears to have steadily moved from surface–level analysis to a deeper
description of language use. However, in the context of language teaching for specific purposes,
applied discourse analysis seems to represent a rather narrow description of language in use and is
inadequate in its explanation. In order to introduce a thick description of language in use, it is
necessary to combine socio–cultural and psycholinguistic aspects of text–construction and
interpretation with linguistic insights to answer the question: why are specific discourse–genres
written and used by the specialist communities the way they are? Genre analysis as an insightful
description of English for specific purpose texts has become a useful and powerful tool to arrive at
significant form–function correlations which can be utilized for a number of applied linguistic
purposes. CARS, which means create a research space is a well–known model for conducting the

Movie Review : My Opinion
The movie I decided to watch is called Wedding Crashers. The movie in my opinion is a great
movie when you look at it from a sociological standpoint. The two main characters in the movie
are John and Jeremy; they're "wedding crashers." What they do is go to different weddings of
people they have never even met and try and sleep with the bride maids. They use aliases so no
one can notice them and they have a whole back story which is completely fake. They act like
they're part of the family by studying the family's history this way when people ask them
questions they can play it off like they're a long lost relative so no one will know them. They have
the wedding and the reception to "pick up" a girl that they can sleep with, if not then they go
home empty handed, not once in the movie did they go home empty handed. They also follow a
rule book for crashing weddings that was passed down from them from a former crasher named
Chaz. A few examples of the rules are: never leave a fellow crasher behind, don't fall inlove, never
talk to the parents for too long, these are just a few, and they have a bunch more. The plot of the
movie mainly takes place when John meets Claire at a wedding; he and Jeremy are supposed to be
crashing. John ends up falling for Claire and everyone can see it, but little does he know Claire has
a boyfriend named Sack. Mean–time Jeremy is hooking up with Claire's sister Gloria, who Jeremy
thinks is crazy. Jeremy wants to leave the reception, John wants to

Comparing Joe Wright's Pride And Prejudice
Upon being assigned to write a film review for Joe Wright's 2005 instant classic Pride and
Prejudice, for a "Writing by Women" course my pulse quickened and my pupils dilated. This
physiological reaction to the task before me was not founded in the same excitement that had the
dozen or so young women in my class squealing and clapping with giddy approval. Rather it
stemmed from a much more primal instinct–FEAR! A fear that was quickly confirmed; for, while
my amygdila was still wrestling with indecision between fight or flight my fellow students had one
by one shot their murderous glances, each like a pair of warning shots fired over my bow. I was

I found the film to be a surprisingly reasonable adaptation of Austen's novel. Especially when one
considers that, this latest film is only two hours long! Joe Wright, the producer and Deborah
Moggach, the writer have done what the makers of the six hour long BBC made–for–TV three part
mini–series failed to do–that is to make this epic–length classic accessible to the 'now' generation.
Perhaps this is due to their three year preparation and deep consideration for Austen's novel. After
all, as Paul Webster (one of the film's three directors) says of the novel, "it is arguably, the original
romantic comedy" (italics mine). Without mentioning Webster's lack of literary knowledge, (I am
fairly certain that Shakespear's Much Ado About Nothing came first), the book is without a doubt a
classic and thus, should be treated as such. Wright and Moggach's meticulous attention to the
history, dress and geography of the Regency Period have definitely paid off. The viewer is easily
transported back in time as the camera pans the lush English landscape and opulent interiors of some
of Britain's most majestic manors. In fact, Wright's choice of Chatsworth, the country home of the
Duchess of Devonshire, for the exterior shots of Pemberly (Mr. Darcy's estate) was based off
Austen's own mention of it in the book and the widely held opinion that Austen was thinking of it
when describing Pemberly. The decision to bring Austen out in

Movie Reflection Exodus: Gods and Kings
In the movie, "Exodus: Gods and Kings", the movie revisits the story of Moses in the biblical times.
The story starts of as Moses, a young man and his adoptive brother, Ramses, are being told that the
Hittites are invading Egypt. It directly shows that the Pharaoh trusts is more towards Moses than his
own son, Ramses when it comes to making decisions. Moses travels from Memphis to the slave
city of Pithom, to find out why are the slaves unhappy. There he finds out his from a Hebrew
bloodline and later is being prosecuted by the royal family. Ramses banishes Moses. While
traveling in the desert, Moses meets Zipporah and marries her. After 9 years, Moses is confronted
by the angel or messenger of God at the burning bush. The messenger tells him to rescue God's
people. When Moses arrives to Ramses, he will have no part of it. God brings the plagues on
Egypt, but Ramses still refuses to set the Hebrews free. After the supernatural killing of the
firstborn Egyptians, Ramses finally sets the Hebrews free. Moses leads them to the Red Sea.
Though I found the movie very interesting and had battle scenes. The movie tried its best to be as
factual as possible but lacked some very important set ups of biblical events which upset some
religious watchers.
In the Bible, Moses sees a burning bush and thought, "I will go over and see this strange sight; why
the bush does not burn up." When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called to

English 101–60 has taught me many things and has helped me grow and develop my skills as a

beginning of the semester, our first writing assignment was a narrative journal entry that focused on
writing about an uninteresting moment from your life and making it interesting. This was a
challenging assignment because it was a broad topic that allowed the writers to take it in any

experience that has taught me a new way to write a paper. In high school there was only one way
to write and that was it. I think that this class is a great way for students to think out of the box,
rather than having to be stuck. It allows them to write more freely about a subject, and I am very
thankful for that. I have learned many new skills and improved the skills I already

The Notebook Essay example
The Notebook is a phenomenal film with incredible performances and many heartfelt moments
from beginning to end. It is a love story that many of us fantasize of living someday. The story
unfolds in recent times at a Nursing home with the introduction of an elderly lady (Gena
Rowlands) who is being visited by an old man, known as Duke (James Garner), who also resides
in the nursing home, and he's there to read her a story. He begins to read about a young girl named
Allie (Rachel McAdams) who was visiting a cousin one summer in the late 1940s. Allie was a
beautiful teenage girl who eventually caught the eye of Noah (Ryan Gosling), her cousin's
boyfriend's best friend. Initially, she showed no interest in Noah, considering the fact...show more

The film?s setting was in present and past scenarios, which made it very interesting. As the old
man Duke read the story, in a past plot, and the story began to climax, he would be interrupted by
someone in the nursing staff, bringing them back to the present. This lineup of events leads to a
sense of curiosity as I began to wonder what these two plots have in relation. This curiosity will
soon be fulfilled as the story develops, and the two plots start to intertwine. The director of this
film did a fantastic job in combining these two plots, and giving the audience just enough time to
figure out their relation. He didn?t give it away too soon, or so late that the story got boring or
confusing. He also made very good use of underscoring (background music with no apparent
source) in a previous scene where Allie and Noah where dancing alone in the middle on nowhere,
to the sounds of Billie Holiday. This particular shot was a three minute continuous shot taken with
a camera on a 300ft dolly track. The actors and actresses in this film did a remarkable job in
playing their roles. The language and wardrobe fit the perfect description of a 40?s teenager.
Now, this is what I call a love story. Based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks, The Notebook is most
definitely the way a love story should be. This story doesn?t just say happily ever after at the end, it
actually takes you there. Works Cited The Notebook. Directed by Nick Cassavetes.

How To Write A Movie Review Essay

  • 1. Film Review: The Breakfast Club After analyzing the film The Breakfast Club, I have come to the conclusion that this movie initials a lot of reality to the story line from a bunch of teenagers who are all just trying to live life with each character telling their own ways of how they are shown through the school, and how they have become who they are. I have chosen to write about Andrew because I can relate to him with sports and how his parents connect with mine. When we first saw Andrew in the movie having his dad drop him off, his dad said," Now I did the same stuff you did, but I didn't get caught unlike you." Now that sentence says a lot in just the first line with how he's treated with discipline. The reason why he got to detention was because he duck tapped Get more content on HelpWriting.net

For example, spending the majority of time with friends who share a common upbringing sounds satisfying, but it does not provide much variety of experience and exposure to new viewpoints and ideas. Simply reading a book, such as an autobiography, or seeing a movie set in a different time or place, can illustrate multiple viewpoints and diverse experiences. For example, the movie The Way (2010), is the story of a man whose son dies while hiking the El Camino trail in the Pyrenees of France and Spain. The father decides to complete the pilgrimage himself in honor of his son and learns about himself and Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 3. Beowulf Movie Review In Partial Fulfillment of Requirements In English MOVIE REVIEW Of BEOWULF Merry Anjela M. MendozaSeptember 16, 2011 Ms. Maria Dolores Fiao–ag Introduction Beowulf is an epic from England. It is a story of a brave man who killed many monsters and died defending from a dragon. It is also a great story of adventure. From an old English poem, it became a 3D movie with the faces of real actors and actresses. Although there has a difference from the original poem, it still showed great and it attracted wide audiences. Throughout the movie review, I gave my own opinions about the movie especially in the effects, how the characters played their role, and how they captured the eye of the audiences. Movie Review The Movie Beowulf is a...show more content... I can't even remember the soundtrack or the music played in this movie. So it is really a great factor that every director must consider so that the audiences will be keeping in touch with the movie. Conclusion I therefore conclude that Beowulf movie, as a whole, is a great animated epic tale with just some revisions from the original one is still a great movie and very fun to watch. Mr. Robert Zemeckis and the other producers and casts had job well done. They were able to show the audiences the story of a brave man who fought and died in killing monsters. Vocabularies: 1. Freedom Writers Worth Admission Price Christy Hulett Mrs. Anderson Sophomore Writing 22 March 2013 Replacing Buses with Notebooks: Freedom Writers worth Admission Price At first glance, Freedom Writers seems like an overdone clichГ© and knowing that it was produced by MTV does not help. The film is about kind–hearted, strong–willed teacher who signs up to teach a class of hardened gang members, drug dealers, and the like. After watching Freedom Writers you realize that it was worth the $6 admission. The positive, uplifting messages and struggles of each unique character can teach us all a lesson. As the movie unfolds, we see many struggles and instants of courage. There are bleak moments and proud ones and the journey is emotional to say the least. Definitely watch this movie if you have two hours to kill. Scratch that. Even if you don't have two hours make time to go see "Freedom Writers." None of the actors are going to win Oscars, but at least they made the characters memorable. We will forever remember Andre, the homeless teenager whose face is full of vulnerability and passion, and Mario the angry drug dealer. There will be moments of borderline cheesiness, but you aren't watching the movie for the acting. You sit down in that creaky movie theater chair to be entertained with stories of heartbreak and war and loss. You're there to be inspired; to know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. The powerful first–person narratives are sure to inspire through subtle and some not so subtle messages. Each character has a unique story that they bring to the table (err, screen). • 6. Iron Man Review In a world where Hollywood–endorsed B–grade comic book films have dominated the Box Office reaped the financial benefits accordingly, Iron Man offers a relieving reprieve with a film which is both entertaining and well made. A strong lead and outstanding visuals cements Iron Man as one of my favourite mainstream films of 2008. From the start the suave, whisky–wielding billionaire Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr) establishes himself as a strong and likeable character. He made an armoured Humvee journey through the war–torn Taliban Middle–East seem not only comfortable and cool, but like a tropical holiday destination. As mentioned previously the special effects in Iron Man are outstanding. They make the suit really shine onscreen; from the slight sheen of distant lights reflected of the computer generated metal of the Mark III armour to the grafted, roughly hewn Frankestein–like concept each suit seems real, weighted to an extent where they seem like characters of their own. Jarvis, Tony's computer, takes on a life of its own inside the suit and out, blending real world mechanics and near–future sciences fiction and blending the two with special effects to make seemingly plausible super science. It wasn't a case of silly gimmicks such as cell–phone sonar's or shoe phones, Iron Man's gadgets are not only useful but seem like naturally evolved ideas conceptualised by real scientists as opposed to being dreamt up by artists who never grew up. Iron Man the film other comic book films such as the Hulk and Spiderman should have been. Not some frivolous fan wank which stuck to the source material with Biblical dedication, but which opened its premise to new interpretation and re imagination. Yes, ultimately it is still derived from a source material written for 14 year olds so suffers from a degree of tameness accordingly, but with the help of some strong performances, strong writing and some damn fine effects, Iron Man has gone above and beyond to make a genre–spanning film with a wide Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 7. Cinematography Essay examples Today, the movie industry has become a huge moneymaker in the entertainment business. You cannot turn on the television without seeing advertisements for the next big blockbuster film. While most of the films these days entertain with amazing special effects or raunchy comedy, there are still films that thrive because of great acting, directing, and editing. Three films that I believe would be great examples of the way these aspects can cause a film to excel are ?Any Given Sunday?, ?The Cell?, and ?Almost Famous?. ?Any Given Sunday? shows how, by using editing, a movie can portray an intense situation realistically. In ?The Cell?, color is used to differentiate between how we see things in reality and how...show more content... While watching this movie you truly feel like you are in the game. ?The Cell?, instead of focusing on accurately portraying reality, takes you to the dream world. Catherine Deane, played by Jennifer Lopez, is a child psychologist involved in an experimental project that allows her to travel inside the mind of coma victims to try to draw them away from their fears and thus out of their coma. This movie portrays the journey inside the mind much like you would depict a dream. When Deane is inside a young child, whose main concern seems to be a fear of the ?boogie man?, the world she enters is a beautiful desert scene where the sky is bright blue with puffy white clouds. She is always dressed in bright white dresses and seems to glow. This depicts that she has earned the child?s trust. All color is brighter in this dreamlike world. Even though these experiments had not been successful bringing the child out of the coma, Dean was able to learn a lot about the child. This caused a couple of detectives to approach her about entering the mind of a serial killer who had slipped into a coma with the goal of discovering the location of his most recent captive. She starts out as an orphaned girl and is going through miserable times but eventually goes on to become her own person. On the way she meets many unique people and learns more about herself and society. Her Journey is full of surprises whether good or bad and she must make her own decisions about the situations. Some issues she faces have to do with social class being a big part of determining what you could and could not do. She also had to face issues of gender roles and independence during that time of 1760–1820. Lastly, there is also a great deal about her relationships and her love for Rochester. All these ideas tie in together and some of these aspects are portrayed similarly in the Novel and the Book but also have differences between the two. The Novel starts when Jane is a young girl and showcases her as a mistreated orphan and is not happy about her situation because she feels that no one is one her side. Jane even tells her aunt Mrs. Reed, "I am glad you are no relation of mine. I will never call you aunt again as long as I live. I will never come to visit you when I am grown up; and if any one asks me how I liked you, and how you treated me, I will say the very thought of you makes me sick, and that you treated me with miserable cruelty. . . It is about a 70 year old man name Ben Whittaker coming out of retirement due to loneliness and felt the need to keep moving and fill that hole in his heart. He decided to work for a fashion company who are looking for senior interns run by Jules Ostin. Through a series of events, Jules and Ben had developed a trusting relationship with each other as businesses partners and friends. Jules would not only come to Ben for advice in regards to the company due to his many years of experience in business, she would also go to Ben for relationship advice. Ben had been in a business company for many years and through his experience, he was able to witness the leadership qualities that Jules had without her own knowledge. Though this movie is a heartfelt movie, it displays Jules great leadership skills on how she runs the company and motivates her employees. In this assignment, I will be exploring Jules leadership within the company in positive and negative aspects. In the beginning Jules' company was small but it quickly expanded as a result of the successful response from her customers. As a leader, she was able to influence her workers to achieve a common goal (Gentner, Module 11). She motivated her employees through trusting them, developed other leaders, and achieved results (Gentner, Module 11). During a scene where Jules had already Get more content on HelpWriting.net

Q. Do you believe that the movie rating system is necessary for current films? Yes, definitely. Nowadays, there are too many films which contain violent and sexual contents. So, it's very harmful for children or teenagers. Thus, it is inevitable to have rating system to distinguish the people who can see the film from those who cannot. Q. What do you think about the violence on TV or in films? The violence on TV or in films is terrible nowadays. It seems like movie producers do not care about innocent children or teenagers who might be affected by those horrible scenes. There was an incidence that one child imitated the crime on a film and killed his brother. So, I think there should be much strict laws against the violence on TV. Q. Do you think movies are better recently than they were in the past? As far as special effects are concerned, yes, movies are definitely better now. But I don't think the stories are necessarily better than those produced in the past. In fact, I think a lot of the time movie markers concentrate too much on special effects and forget about a plot. He is a clean–shaven man with blonde hair and blue eyes who presents himself as a very proper man. This mise en scene proves that this man is a good man. The director realizes this may not be true with everyone but it is a typical stereotype in our society today. As the movie goes on the enemy, who is forcing him to second–guess his values, tests him time and time again. Being an honest man is no longer putting criminals away; they are always one step ahead. By the end of the film, the Joker crushes Harvey's values and blinds him from what his true goals were in life. His two–sided face shows this visually after being burned in the explosion. However, the best kind of movies to watch are comedy films since they allow many people to leave the Cinema feeling happy inside. Nonetheless, searching for a particular comedy movie like Shrek would be the best option to choose since they have a total of four movies previously released along with a new movie coming out in 2019. Yet the storyline of Shrek always keeps everyone entertained with the hilarious embarrassing moments as well as the nice songs, and happily ever after endings. Trailers seen on YouTube shows exactly how funny the movie Shrek actually is, however the easiest movie to remembered out of the rest would probably be Shrek from 2001. This movie was not only the first movie released but was favored by many because Shrek rescues Fiona in the Huge tower away from A scary fire breathing Dragon. • 14. Genre Analysis of Movie Review Essay 1. Introduction In recent years, movie class plays a more and more important role in English teaching in China. Most teachers require students to write movie reviews after watching the movie. However, how to write movie review is still remain unclear to students. Some student download a review from the internet, and some write a summary of the movie instead. Genre analysis is a system of analysis by which observations are made on the repeated communicative functions found in genres and on the linguistic features of these functions (Brett, 1994). Genre knowledge played an important role in helping novices understand how to produce academics, professional or educational discourse. Genre study can help to improve Chinese students' movie...show more content... The second level grammatical–rhetorical analysis aims to investigate the relationship between grammatical choice and rhetorical function in written English for science and technology. Discourse analysis as interaction represents the third level of language description. Most importantly, interactional analysis outlines the concept of interpretation of discourse by the reader or listener. Discourse analysis appears to have steadily moved from surface–level analysis to a deeper description of language use. However, in the context of language teaching for specific purposes, applied discourse analysis seems to represent a rather narrow description of language in use and is inadequate in its explanation. In order to introduce a thick description of language in use, it is necessary to combine socio–cultural and psycholinguistic aspects of text–construction and interpretation with linguistic insights to answer the question: why are specific discourse–genres written and used by the specialist communities the way they are? Genre analysis as an insightful description of English for specific purpose texts has become a useful and powerful tool to arrive at significant form–function correlations which can be utilized for a number of applied linguistic purposes. • 15. Movie Review : My Opinion The movie I decided to watch is called Wedding Crashers. The movie in my opinion is a great movie when you look at it from a sociological standpoint. The two main characters in the movie are John and Jeremy; they're "wedding crashers." What they do is go to different weddings of people they have never even met and try and sleep with the bride maids. They use aliases so no one can notice them and they have a whole back story which is completely fake. They act like they're part of the family by studying the family's history this way when people ask them questions they can play it off like they're a long lost relative so no one will know them. They have the wedding and the reception to "pick up" a girl that they can sleep with, if not then they go home empty handed, not once in the movie did they go home empty handed. They also follow a rule book for crashing weddings that was passed down from them from a former crasher named Chaz. A few examples of the rules are: never leave a fellow crasher behind, don't fall inlove, never talk to the parents for too long, these are just a few, and they have a bunch more. The plot of the movie mainly takes place when John meets Claire at a wedding; he and Jeremy are supposed to be crashing. John ends up falling for Claire and everyone can see it, but little does he know Claire has a boyfriend named Sack. Mean–time Jeremy is hooking up with Claire's sister Gloria, who Jeremy thinks is crazy. Jeremy wants to leave the reception, John wants to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 16. Comparing Joe Wright's Pride And Prejudice Upon being assigned to write a film review for Joe Wright's 2005 instant classic Pride and Prejudice, for a "Writing by Women" course my pulse quickened and my pupils dilated. This physiological reaction to the task before me was not founded in the same excitement that had the dozen or so young women in my class squealing and clapping with giddy approval. Rather it stemmed from a much more primal instinct–FEAR! A fear that was quickly confirmed; for, while my amygdila was still wrestling with indecision between fight or flight my fellow students had one by one shot their murderous glances, each like a pair of warning shots fired over my bow. I was under attack! My foe, the not–to–be–crossed cult–like Austen fan club sitting across...show more content... I found the film to be a surprisingly reasonable adaptation of Austen's novel. Especially when one considers that, this latest film is only two hours long! Joe Wright, the producer and Deborah Moggach, the writer have done what the makers of the six hour long BBC made–for–TV three part mini–series failed to do–that is to make this epic–length classic accessible to the 'now' generation. Perhaps this is due to their three year preparation and deep consideration for Austen's novel. After all, as Paul Webster (one of the film's three directors) says of the novel, "it is arguably, the original romantic comedy" (italics mine). Without mentioning Webster's lack of literary knowledge, (I am fairly certain that Shakespear's Much Ado About Nothing came first), the book is without a doubt a classic and thus, should be treated as such. Wright and Moggach's meticulous attention to the history, dress and geography of the Regency Period have definitely paid off. The viewer is easily transported back in time as the camera pans the lush English landscape and opulent interiors of some of Britain's most majestic manors. In fact, Wright's choice of Chatsworth, the country home of the Duchess of Devonshire, for the exterior shots of Pemberly (Mr. Darcy's estate) was based off Austen's own mention of it in the book and the widely held opinion that Austen was thinking of it when describing Pemberly. The decision to bring Austen out in Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 17. Movie Reflection Exodus: Gods and Kings In the movie, "Exodus: Gods and Kings", the movie revisits the story of Moses in the biblical times. The story starts of as Moses, a young man and his adoptive brother, Ramses, are being told that the Hittites are invading Egypt. It directly shows that the Pharaoh trusts is more towards Moses than his own son, Ramses when it comes to making decisions. Moses travels from Memphis to the slave city of Pithom, to find out why are the slaves unhappy. There he finds out his from a Hebrew bloodline and later is being prosecuted by the royal family. Ramses banishes Moses. While traveling in the desert, Moses meets Zipporah and marries her. After 9 years, Moses is confronted by the angel or messenger of God at the burning bush. The messenger tells him to rescue God's people. When Moses arrives to Ramses, he will have no part of it. God brings the plagues on Egypt, but Ramses still refuses to set the Hebrews free. After the supernatural killing of the firstborn Egyptians, Ramses finally sets the Hebrews free. Moses leads them to the Red Sea. Though I found the movie very interesting and had battle scenes. The movie tried its best to be as factual as possible but lacked some very important set ups of biblical events which upset some religious watchers. In the Bible, Moses sees a burning bush and thought, "I will go over and see this strange sight; why the bush does not burn up." When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called to Get more content on HelpWriting.net
  • 18. Review of English Semester Essay English 101–60 has taught me many things and has helped me grow and develop my skills as a writer. It has taught me how to think more creatively and use clear concrete details. In the beginning of the semester, our first writing assignment was a narrative journal entry that focused on writing about an uninteresting moment from your life and making it interesting. This was a challenging assignment because it was a broad topic that allowed the writers to take it in any direction. I remember thinking I had no idea what I am going to write about. Once I was able to narrow down the ideas I started writing what a traumatic experience I had six years ago. This was when I underwent the surgical procedure, to remove my gallbladder. My main focus...show more content... Once I found that topic, I was able to start writing the research paper, My group faced a couple of challenges along the way. One of the biggest challenges we faced was all of us meeting the length requirement because were all still in the beginning stages of the assignment. The workshop group was a new experience for me because I have never worked with that many person, this kind of overwhelmed me because there was so many opinion on one paper. The groups weakness was, our lack of organization. Fortunately, we were able to make this up with all of us being very truthful towards each other and not sugarcoating the revisions we suggested among our papers. We all accomplished the beginning stages of writing our research papers and making sure everyone had their thesis there. Over the semester I have been challenged and intrigued over and over by the content of this course and the professor, who thought I could develop a fairly strong paper if it was not for all my grammatical errors. It has been a very enlightening and enthralling experience that has taught me a new way to write a paper. In high school there was only one way to write and that was it. I think that this class is a great way for students to think out of the box, rather than having to be stuck. It allows them to write more freely about a subject, and I am very thankful for that. I have learned many new skills and improved the skills I already Get more content on HelpWriting.net

  • 20. Crash: A Movie Review Essay Most people are born with good hearts, but as they grow up they learn prejudices. "Crash" is a movie that brings out bigotry and racial stereotypes. The movie is set in Los Angeles, a city with a cultural mix of every nationality. The story begins when several people are involved in a multi–car accident. Several stories interweave during two days in Los Angeles involving a collection of inter–related characters, a police detective with a drugged out mother and a mischief younger brother, two car thieves who are constantly theorizing on society and race, the white district attorney and his wife, a racist cop and his younger partner, a successful Hollywood director and his wife, a Persian immigrant father, a Hispanic locksmith and his young...show more content... Then Peter brings up the fact that their waitress was black. Anthony points out that just because she is black, does not mean that she fails to see in stereotypes. He argues that she did not serve them because she assumed they would not tip well. So Peter says, "Well how much did you tip her?" In his defense Anthony claims that with that kind of service, why should he tip? By doing this, Anthony is just contributing to the cycle of discrimination. She decides not to serve him like everyone else, so he does not tip her. She is then proven right in her assumption and the cycle continues. Then a white man and woman (the Los Angeles District Attorney and his wife) walk past them in the street, and as soon as the woman sees the two black men her arm almost automatically clings to the side of her husband. They then pull out their firearms and approach the couple, robbing them of their SUV at gunpoint. By acting the way they did they proved the woman correct in her assumption. In this scene Haggis shows only face shots so that each characters emotion is revealed by their face. The Los Angeles District Attorney's wife is freaking out at her husband because they have a Mexican locksmith changing their locks. She tells her husband she would like the locks changed again in the morning because the "gangbanger" locksmith with the "prison tattoos" is going to sell their keys to one of his "homies". • 21. The Notebook Essay example The Notebook is a phenomenal film with incredible performances and many heartfelt moments from beginning to end. It is a love story that many of us fantasize of living someday. The story unfolds in recent times at a Nursing home with the introduction of an elderly lady (Gena Rowlands) who is being visited by an old man, known as Duke (James Garner), who also resides in the nursing home, and he's there to read her a story. He begins to read about a young girl named Allie (Rachel McAdams) who was visiting a cousin one summer in the late 1940s. Allie was a beautiful teenage girl who eventually caught the eye of Noah (Ryan Gosling), her cousin's boyfriend's best friend. Initially, she showed no interest in Noah, considering the fact...show more content... The film?s setting was in present and past scenarios, which made it very interesting. As the old man Duke read the story, in a past plot, and the story began to climax, he would be interrupted by someone in the nursing staff, bringing them back to the present. This lineup of events leads to a sense of curiosity as I began to wonder what these two plots have in relation. This curiosity will soon be fulfilled as the story develops, and the two plots start to intertwine. The director of this film did a fantastic job in combining these two plots, and giving the audience just enough time to figure out their relation. He didn?t give it away too soon, or so late that the story got boring or confusing. He also made very good use of underscoring (background music with no apparent source) in a previous scene where Allie and Noah where dancing alone in the middle on nowhere, to the sounds of Billie Holiday. This particular shot was a three minute continuous shot taken with a camera on a 300ft dolly track. The actors and actresses in this film did a remarkable job in playing their roles. The language and wardrobe fit the perfect description of a 40?s teenager. Now, this is what I call a love story. Based on the novel by Nicholas Sparks, The Notebook is most definitely the way a love story should be. This story doesn?t just say happily ever after at the end, it actually takes you there.
