Corporate Social Responsibility:
is defined by Wikipedia as
  “…the continuing commitment by business to behave ethically
    and contribute to economic development while improving the
    quality of life of the workforce and their families as well as
    the local community and society at large".
 CSR is one of the newest management strategies
    where companies try to create a positive impact on
    society while doing business.
 There is no clear-cut definition of what CSR comprises.
 Every company has different CSR objectives though the main
    motive is the same.
 All companies have a two point agenda-
 1. to improve qualitatively (the management of people and
      processes) and
 2. quantitatively (the impact on society)
Corporate Philanthropy:

Definition: Corporate Philanthropy mirrors
 individual philanthropy except for the fact that
 a corporation, not an individual, is donating
 funds, time, or talent. Although done on a
 larger scale, corporate philanthropy is still
 done without any expectation of direct
 corporate gain (such as increases in
 revenue), but usually involves indirect gains
 (such as enhancing a company’s
 brand, engaging employees, recognition, etc.).
Corporate Philanthropy:
Some of the common forms of corporate
 philanthropy are:

 Cash donations: including
  grants, donations, sponsorships – whenever
  money exchanges hands.
 In-kind donations: such as donating
  products, access to employee volunteer
  groups, the use of a company’s
  facilities, property, or services as examples –
  whenever non-monetary support is given.
Cause Related Marketing:
is defined by Wikipedia as

Cause marketing or cause-related marketing
 refers to a type of marketing involving the
 cooperative efforts of a "for profit" business and
 a non-profit organization for mutual benefit.

Cause marketing differs from corporate giving
 (philanthropy) as the latter generally involves a
 specific donation that is tax deductible, while
 cause marketing is a marketing relationship
 not necessarily based on a donation.

According to cause-marketing
consultant Jocelyn Daw, cause-related
marketing (CRM):
…is a mutually beneficial collaboration between a
 corporation and a nonprofit in which their
 respective assets are combined to:

1. create shareholder and social value
2. connect with a range of constituents (be
   they consumers, employees, or suppliers)
3. communicate the shared values of both
   organizations
Benefits for Nonprofits
The possible benefits of cause marketing for
 nonprofit organizations include an increased
 ability to promote the nonprofit organization's
 cause via the greater financial resources of a
 business, and an increased ability to reach
 possible supporters through a company's
 customer base.
Nonprofits potentially benefit from increased
 fundraising and exposure.
Benefits for Business
The possible benefits of cause marketing for
 business include positive public
 relations, improved customer
 relations, additional marketing
 opportunities, and making more money.
Corporations that are socially involved
 potentially benefit from increased brand loyalty
 and employee morale.
