For the past years I have pursued a successful career in bioinformatics and laboratory software development. Coming from the field of telecommunication engineering, I started at university teaching and developing research in the field of biomedical engineering. Along my scientific career I have worked at TECNUN and later on at the European Bioinformatics Institute where I led the Service Oriented Architecture strategy of the Institute, coordinating the development of a new data and services framework, that included a revamped web site and a unified search engine.
