  2.  Hardware devices :-  What is hardware device? Ans: Hardware Device is defined as equipment that is not a Desktop or Application Server.  Examples of hardware devices are:  CPU (central processing unit).  Drive (e.g., Blu-ray, CD-ROM, DVD, floppy drive, hard drive, and SSD).  Fan (heat sink)  Modem.  Motherboard.  Network card.  Power supply.  RAM.
  3.  What is software device? Ans:Software is a set of instructions, data or programs used to operate computers and execute specific tasks. It is the opposite of hardware, which describes the physical aspects of a computer.  Examples of software devices are:  Microsoft Word.  Google Chrome.  Firefox.  Skype.  Windows Media Player.  VLC Media Player.  Microsoft Access.  Photoshop.
  4. Steps to Start a Computer:-  Step 1: Press the start button on the CPU tower.  Step 2: Wait while the computer boots. When the computer has finished booting, it will show a dialogue box that will ask for a user and password.  Step 3: Enter your user name and password, then click “OK”.  Step 4: Your computer is now ready to use.
  5.  Step 1: To shut down your computer, click "Start" on the main menu.  Step 2: Highlight and click on "Shut Down."  Step 3: You will see a gray dialogue box. Click "Shut Down” then click “OK”.  Step 4: Please wait while your computer shuts down.
  6. How to login a computer? Ans: •Press Ctrl-, Alt- and Delete. •If you can see your account name in the screen: Write to Password field your password. Click Arrow or press Enter. •If you see other account name in the screen: Click Switch User. Choose Other User. How to logout a computer? Ans: •Step 1: Open command prompt as an administrator. Click the start button and click on all programs, then click on accessories, right click on command prompt and click Run as administrator. •Step 2: Open task manager and log off the other user. •Step 3: Confirm logoff.
  7.  There are few uses of a keyboard in a computer, which are given below.  Input Date.  Type Numbers.  Text Chatting.  Type Special Character.  Types computer short cut Keys.  Function keys: F1,F2.F3,F4,F5,F6,F7,F8,F9,F10,F11,F12.  Command keys: INSERT,DELETE,BACKSPACE.  Windows key: Start button  Punctuation keys: comma,full stop, question mark,apostrophe,colun,exclamatory,semi colon.  Numeric keys: 0-9,+,-,*,/,Num lock  Navigation keys: arrow keys,HOME,END,PAGE UP,PAGE DOWN.  Control keys: shift,spacebar,ALT,Tab,Caps lock.

  9.  Different types of files store different types of information.  Each file is given a file name and has afile name extension that identifies the file type.  The file name and file name extension are separated by a “dot”  Examples:  .txt[notepad]  .doc[word document 97-2003]  .docx[word document 2007]  .xls[MS Excel file]  .ppt[MS ppt file]  .jpeg[image]  .mp3[audio file]  .mp4[audio file]
  10.  What is Computer care and maintenance of computer? Ans: Computer maintenance means keeping your computers and laptops in good condition through regular cleanings, hard drive updates, and virus prevention. Doing so can lengthen the lifespan of your devices and it can also help you browse the web more safely. Importance of Computer Maintenance :  Early Detection of Issues. Computers can be temperamental, and we all know that small issues can become huge problems before we know it. ...  Prevention Against Viruses and Malware. ...  Speed up Your Computer. ...  Maximize your Software Efficiency. ...  Prevent Data Loss.
  11.  Ways to take care of computer are: i] Clean the keyboard with a soft brush. ii] Clean the screen with a soft cloth .Do not spray any liquid, other than water. iii]Avoid having food and drinks while using computer. iv]Handle devices carefully.[do not drop or bang] v] Keep the computer cool. vi] Do not overcharge the battery. vii] Always plug in devices carefully. viii] Do not run too many programs at a time.
