The document discusses plug tests, which are events where technology consortiums bring vendors together to test interoperability and conformance of standards. It describes Nortel's participation in WiMAX Forum plug tests in France and Taiwan, where they achieved interoperability with numerous device and chipset vendors for technologies like MIMO and different channel bandwidths. The plug tests followed a common format of involving implementations, experts, test cases, and rules to facilitate comprehensive testing.

Plug fest
The idea of group tests, or more formally known as a
Plug fest, is one of several venues used by numerous
technology consortiums.
The venue is a means for providing vendors the
opportunity to address potential ambiguities and to
improve the testing scenarios and capabilities in a
technology standard.
