16. Lay of the land:

lowlands and the average height is 173
metres above sea level.
•The highest point in the country is Rysy.
The lowest point is Raczki Elbląskie in north
Poland.

Poland is the 6th economy in European Union
and 20th economy in the world.
Services sector is responsible for the
production of 60 % of the total GDT
(Gross Domestic Product), industry 35 %
and agriculture 5 %.

Industry is developing in the southwest of
our country in Lower Silesia. This area is
rich in mineral resources such as coal
and salt.
29. The agriculture in Poland is based on the cultivation
of crops such as wheat, oats and rye and corn.
We have also poultry, cows and pigs farms.

35. Capital city – Warsaw
It is the capital of our country. 1,7 milion people live
here. There are the Pariament building and
Presidental Palace where the government meets.
37. Cracow:
Cracow in terms of area and population is
the second largest city in Poland. It was
the second capital of Poland. There are
also Wawel (Royal Castle), Cloth Hall, St.
Mary’s Church. You can also visit the Old
Town.
39. Gniezno:
Gniezno was the first capital city of Poland
and the first metropolis of the Church.
There are a lot of interesting routes which
runs through Gniezno.
In this city worth seeing are Gniezno
Doors, which represent the martyrdom
of St. Wojciech.
41. Gdańsk:
Gdańsk is located in north Poland on Baltic
Sea. There are sunny beaches.
It is great attraction for tourist in the
summer. You can visit the old port crane-
Żuraw.
43. Zakopane:
Zakopane it’s famous city on the south
Poland. There are beautiful mountains.
The local food is delicious and traditional.
For example sheep cheese.
You can visit Zakopane and the Tatra
mountains in winter, when there is a lot of
snow and the people can ski and
snowboarding.
