In Tanzania, the Africa RISING project is being implemented in Babati District in Manyara region, Northern Tanzania and in Kongwa and Kiteto Districts in Dodoma region, Central Tanzania. The feedback meetings highlighted in this photo report were a forum for Africa RISING scientists , farmers and extension agents to jointly reflect on the performance of research themes during the 2013/14 seasons and also plan for the integration of technologies in 2014/15 -16 seasons.

2. INTRODUCTION
In Tanzania, the Africa RISING project is being implemented in Babati District in
Manyara region, Northern Tanzania and in Kongwa and Kiteto Districts in Dodoma
region, Central Tanzania.
The feedback meetings highlighted in this photo report were a forum for Africa
RISING scientists , farmers and extension agents to jointly reflect on the
performance of research themes during the 2013/14 seasons and also plan for the
integration of technologies in 2014/15 -16 seasons.

3. INTRODUCTION
The meetings were held in six villages of Babati District namely; Matufa, Halu,
Shaurimoyo, Seloto, Sabilo and Long.

4. KEY OBSERVATIONS /LESSONS DURING FEEDBACK MEETINGS
1. Timing of field operations, especially planting is critical.
2. Farmer–participatory research fosters positive mindset and acceptance of new
technologies.
3. Meetings bring in scope for integration, foster trust and cuts down gossips/false
expectations.
4. Involvement of local leaders and need for patience with farmers results to high
number of attendance in meetings.
5. There is a need for room for technology integration in the sites.
