(The Rocket Fuel Case) Based on the dataset rocket_fuel.csv in our Assignment 3, we can create
a chart with conversion rates for the control and treated group
as a function of hours within a day (excluding the period between midnight and 8am). The chart
looks as follows:
Suppose your team is in charge of the advertising timing decisions.
(1) One of your colleagues suggested that we should expose our ads to customers around 4pm
every day as the average conversion rate at that time seems the highest.
According to the chart, do you agree or disagree? Explain your argument.
(2) To better serve your teams purpose, how would you modify the current experimental design to
draw more accurate conclusions? What might be the potential cost of that
modification?
