Stormwater Runoff Solution -
Permeable Pavements.
3. AIM: - This modal constructed based upon the smart city that is Stormwater
Runoff Solution - Permeable Pavement in india. Our country of cities Day by Day
become Smart city. Because our country becomes a digital country within few years
(Make in India). It is long life. The main function of this modal to avoid the storage of
rain water and commercial water on roads.
That storage water use for water treatment plant through pipe
connection.
1. Construction:- it is made of sand, aggregate and
bricks blocks. it is very cheap and best. We use very few
material in this road. All this material used in different-
different layers in different hights. Inside the road
pavement we use pipe that is connected to water
treatment , Dam,river, sea etc..
Geotextiles are permeable fabrics which, when used
in association with soil, have the ability to separate,
filter, reinforce, protect, or drain. Typically made from
polypropylene or polyester, geotextile fabrics come in
three basic forms: woven needle punched or heat
bonded .
4. 2. Stormwater,also spelled storm water,is water that originates
during precipitation events and snow/ice melt. Stormwatercan
soak into the soil (infiltrate), be held on the surface and evaporate,
or runoff and end up in nearby streams, rivers, or other water
bodies (surface water).
5. 3.Stormwater Runoff Solution
- Permeable Pavements:-
The Inflo system by Techo-Bloc is a ground-
breakingstorm-water management paving system for
heavy traffic industrial, commercial and institutional use. ...
The pavers interlock vertically, horizontally and
8. 4.MATERIALS USED:-soil (15 cm hights),Geotextile
material ( 2mm),Aggregate 12mm,20mm and 40mm, Block
brick or concrete pavers and Permeable joint Materials.
Concrete blocks
Precast grid or block-shaped concrete with open voids was
used for permeable pavement to allow infiltration. Installation
can be by hand or by a mechanical process. Generally,
the voids of the block are filled with crushed gravel or
stone, or topsoil and turf. Several common concrete blocks
– Turfstone UNI Eco-Stoneand Unilock– were used
to investigate the runoff volume. The results
indicated that the runoff volume was significantly lower
than for asphalt driveways.
13. ADVANTAGES
Environmental benefits
• Reduces storm water runoff
• Water management practices
• Mitigation surface pollutants
pervious water
allows recharging
the ground level
14. Safety
• Reduce tire sound
• Prevents glare
Economics
• Low maintenance cost
• More life span
DISADVANTAGES
• Extended curing time
• Limited use in heavy vehicle traffic areas
• Frequent maintenance is required
• Compressive strength is low
• Special care in expansive soils & high ground water
conditions
CONCLUSION
15. • The pervious concrete helps the water to
infiltrate
• Cities with pervious pavements would be safer
for traffic, be cleaner and less pollution
