VALUES EXPLORING EXERCISE
Your values are the things you believe are most important. Values help to determine your priorities
in life, and heavily influence decision-making. For example, a person who values wealth might
prioritize their career, while a person who values family might try to spend more time at home.
When a person's actions do not match their values (e.g. valuing family, but working a lot), they may
become discontent.
Determine your core values. From the list below, choose and write down every core value that
resonates with you. Do not overthink your selections. As you read the list, simply write down the
words that feel like a core value to you personally. If you think of a value, you possess that is not
on the list, be sure to write it down as well.

2. Group all similar values together from the list of values you just created. Group them in a way
that makes sense to you, personally. Create a maximum of five groupings. If you have more than
five groupings, drop those least important. See the example below
3. Choose one word within each grouping that best represents the label for the entire group.
Again, do not overthink your labels. There are no right or wrong answers. You are defining the
answer that is right for you. See the example below – the label chosen for the grouping is
bolded.

Values Exploring Exercise - SAFIR

  • 1. https://www.linkedin.com/in/abdallahyakoub/ Safir.coaching@gmail.com +201062622827 / +34678216227 @SAFIR_Coaching VALUES EXPLORING EXERCISE Your values are the things you believe are most important. Values help to determine your priorities in life, and heavily influence decision-making. For example, a person who values wealth might prioritize their career, while a person who values family might try to spend more time at home. When a person's actions do not match their values (e.g. valuing family, but working a lot), they may become discontent. Determine your core values. From the list below, choose and write down every core value that resonates with you. Do not overthink your selections. As you read the list, simply write down the words that feel like a core value to you personally. If you think of a value, you possess that is not on the list, be sure to write it down as well. 1. Abundance 2. Acceptance 3. Accountability 4. Achievement 5. Advancement 6. Adventure 7. Advocacy 8. Ambition 9. Appreciation 10. Assertiveness 11. Attractiveness 12. Authenticity 13. Autonomy 14. Group them in a way that makes sense to you, personally. Create a maximum of five groupings. If you have more than five groupings, drop those least important. See the example below 3. Choose one word within each grouping that best represents the label for the entire group. Again, do not overthink your labels. There are no right or wrong answers. You are defining the answer that is right for you. See the example below – the label chosen for the grouping is bolded.
