11. Charleston, SC surrenders to the

1. General Cornwallis forces colonists to give allegiance

2. Colonel Tarleton refuses to “give quarter” to Buford’s
VA Infantry. Wounded bayoneted, and those who
surrendered are stabbed with sabers.
