The History Channel is a Historical-based Digital and Satellite
Television network this channel is mostly prominent in America
however it is available on English TV channels. The channel is joint
owned by A&E Network and the Disney owned ABC Television group.
The channel also owns two other spin off channels called History en
Española which is the Spanish equivalent of the channel and Military
History. The channel also varies in from of information for each region
they broadcast in.
The channel has covered various different and a wide range of historical
periods and topics, while similar themed topics are organised into
themed weeks and various marathons. Subjects include warfare,
inventions, aviation, mechanical and civil engineering, technology,
mythical creatures, monsters, UFO’s, conspiracy theory’s, aliens,
religious beliefs and various other historical and informative
information.

History Channel is Males within their 25 to 54. This is the audience whom will
be interested in the Historical and informative content. The channel is mostly
focused for males this is because the channel emphasis more conflict which
would be more appealing to an male demographic. In the social economical
group would be in the classification B – middle Class – Intermediate
managerial administrative or professional job roles, the more intellectual
programing would also appeal to the audience because of their status in the
social economical groups. However the economical grouping may change as the
channel is becoming more open to what whey are going to show, an example of
this is the TV show Vikings which may have historical aspects but is not fully
historically accurate.

This is the History channels logo, the logo
was create in 1995, the business has chosen
to keep the retro logo in present day, there
have been some variation on the logo but it
has never deviated from the base design
This red Line is
splitting up the Main
Focal point from the
text. The Red line
also has a slight
colour gradient. The
use of the colour red
breaks up the two
other parts of the
Logo.
The Main focus of the
logo is the Big golden
H, this H on its own
can be recognised as
associated with the
brand. The use of
vectors and gradients
have created an 3D
effect.
The Text is in all capitals
and the colour is in all
black the boldness of the
text stands out while the
colour does not help the
text stand out from the
other parts of the logo
