University Leaders Learn About Piedmont Advantage Credit Union’s New
Cutting Edge ‘Experience’ Model
Winston Salem, NC (September 30, 2015) — Piedmont Advantage Credit Union hosted
UNC Wilmington’s Dean of the Cameron School of Business Dr. Rob Burrus and Director of
Development Beau Cummings as they learned about what makes Piedmont Advantage Credit
Union unique within the financial institution world. They were guided by the Member
Experience Advisors (MEAs) through the caring solutions that are built for members at every life
stage and experienced the culture and hospitality of the staff. “It was really eye opening to visit
Piedmont Advantage and to view how the millennials have been incorporated into your
branding,” said Dr. Burrus. “You are cutting edge and will be often copied. You have very good
ideas at work, and you have a great staff and administrative team who really show their buy-
in.”
Piedmont Advantage Credit Union continues to enhance the lives of its members by
creating an experience, building caring solutions and being easy to work with wherever
members may be. Members Come First are the first words you see when walking into the credit
union’s headquarters – the core value that sets Piedmont Advantage Credit Union apart from
for-profit banks. “What a privilege it was to share with university leaders our Members Come
First core value in action,” said President/CEO Judy Tharp. Dr. Burrus and Cummings witnessed
the positive interactions between members and MEAs during their tour, and they saw why
members stay a little longer at this branch – fresh coffee, free WiFi, music, iPads, a comfortable
environment, and friendly faces are all pieces of what make up the Piedmont Advantage Credit
Union experience.
