Requirements – Information
Required information inside a report is different. Examples:
● Current overall status.
● Issues not dealt with.
● Issues and their age.
● Who got alerted and when.
● Number of systems monitored.
● List of systems and groups monitored.
● Number of items and triggers.

● Different reports for different types of information. The
report interval is not necessarily bound to its
information type, but usually it looks like this:
● Daily report:
– Short report to give a quick overview
● Weekly report:
– Summary of Issues, still open issues
● Monthly report:
– Depending on network size lists of hostgroups etc.

Report Receiver <> Zabbix User
Reporter maintains a separate user database for
report receiver:
● avoids the need to setup multiple Zabbix accounts.
● allows user specific settings like report-type, report-
interval or report-format.
● allows report management outside Zabbix.
● can combine multiple Zabbix accounts with different
access rights.
