Dear Mr. Zhang,
Thank you for your interest in becoming a Georgia educator. We have reviewed your submitted
documents and determined that you are presently eligible for a Non-Renewable Professional certificate
in ESOL (P-12) and Chinese (P-12) valid for 3 years.
This type of certificate is only issued at the request of a Georgia school system. To request this
certificate, once you are employed in a Georgia school system, you must submit a current PSC
Application along with the PSC Employer Assurance Form completed by the school system
personnel director.
In order to qualify for Clear Renewable certification, you must complete the following special
Georgia certification requirements prior to or during the validity period of the Non-Renewable
Professional certificate:
• Post a passing score on the appropriate subject-area content assessment(s) for the field as described in
this correspondence.
The following GACE assessments must be passed for ESOL (P-12):

120 English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Test II

NOTE: To be able to register for any GACE assessment,you must have a MyPSC account. To establish a
MyPSC account, please visit www.gapsc.com and click on the link to login/register for MyPSC.
2. • To satisfy recency of study requirements, you must complete 6 semester hours of acceptable college
credit or 10 Georgia approved PLUs/SDUs which must include 3 semester hours or 5 Georgia
PLUs/SDUs in identifying and educating exceptional children (covering all exceptionalities).
Please note, you must meet the requirements outlined above for Clear Renewable certification in your base
field of ESOL in order to also qualify for Clear Renewable certification in Chinese.
You are currently eligible for a Permit in the field of Chinese, at the request of a Georgia employing school
system. For more information on the teaching permit, please visit our website at

**In order to receive a certificate ofany type from the GaPSC, you must submit a Certificate of
Eligibility reflecting your SEVIS number or verification ofclearance by the Department ofHomeland
Security. No certificate will be issued without this information.**
Once you have completed the above Special Georgia Requirements, you will be eligible for Clear
Renewable certification. In order to apply for a Clear Renewable certificate, you must submit the
following documentation to the PSC Certification Division:

Documentation of meeting the above listed requirements.
• Verification of Lawful Presence documents
• Processing fee of $20.00 payable by cashier’s check or money order to the State of
Georgia (no cash or personal checks are accepted). The fee may also be paid online
through your MyPSC account at www.gapsc.com. NOTE:If you are employed in a
Georgia school system, your personnel director can also submit the PSC Employer
Assurance Form with your application materials to exempt the certification fee.
