Xavier High School is a Private Catholic High School located in Cedar Rapids, the second
largest city in Iowa. Xavier boasts an enrollment of over 700 students with over 30 student
organizations and 24 athletic teams. Students are surrounded by the Catholic tradition of prayer and
theology throughout their day. Xavier operates on a semester system with 8 - 44min. classes per
day. We are a digital learning environment where every student is provided with an iPad Air for use
during the school year.

We have academic levels: Advanced placement, dual credit, honors college bound, college
bound & general curriculum. Students taking honors college bound courses (marked with an *
on the official transcript) will follow a rigorous college prep curriculum. Our weighted 4.0 scale
factors this in to calculations. The average GPA for the current senior class is 3.50 on a
weighted 4.0 scale.
Besides our AP classes, many students take advantage of PSEO and enroll in classes through
Kirkwood Community College, Coe College & Mount Mercy University. We also offer dual credit
courses through Kirkwood Comm. Coll., St. Louis University & The University of Iowa.
The average Composite score on the ACT exam for 98% of our juniors was 24.0. The average
Composite score on the ACT Exam for the top 33% of our juniors is 27.7.
78% of our students are accepted and attend a 4-year college after graduation.
20% attend a community college with approximately 15% of those transferring to a 4-year
school.
50% of our students take an honors college bound or AP curriculum.
