10. TD Affiliate Marketing
About Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate Marketing is the practice of a company financially
rewarding an affiliate (a publisher) for a sale or lead which
has been driven from the affiliate’s website via links, banners,
creative, etc. Affiliates are the companies or individuals who
through their online activity attract traffic for their selected
partners (known as ‘merchants’). Affiliates can use a number of
online marketing channels to drive online traffic to a merchant
site, this may include paid search, search engine optimisation
or email marketing. Thus, affiliates are commonly viewed as
an extension of a merchant’s virtual sales force – your online
business partners.
Affiliate marketing is the most cost-effective way of advertising

European online interactive
advertising campaign
The Brief
Wonderful has been commissioned to create
two major Europeanwide online advertising
campaigns for Park Plaza Hotels and Resorts and
art’otel. The projects include online interactive
advertising through which we will promote Park
Plaza’s flagship London hotel in Westminster.
The Solution
We produced a range of interactive banners that
allowed the end user to sample which hotels were
on offer before clicking through to the main site.
In doing so, we promoted the brand as a whole,
specific cities in which the hotels can be found
and individual hotels.
The campaign will be translated into several
different languages in order to reach each
European market.

Dynamic Flash Advertising (XML Driven)
The Brief
• Dynamic advertising campaigns
• Online advertising campaigns
Wonderful was given an open brief to develop a flash
banner with dynamic content that pulls in up to the
minute information on Tesco’s online wine selection.
The Solution
Our ultimate aim was to drive customers to the Tesco’s Wine
site in a way that was both innovative and more informative
Tesco online advertising campaign
than a usual static Flash banner. The live data is collected
from an XML file and the images are from the Tesco’s site.
Our widget pulls it all together in one neat package.
In addition to this, we have also been helping to boost
Tesco’s SIM card campaign by creating email and online
banner adverts which encourage customers to register for
a Tesco SIM card, with the added benefit of being entered
into a free prize draw for one of six Nokia X8 mobile phones.
