12. Conceptual influences :this may credited to the Japanese designers Rei Kawakubo, Hussein etc.
Conceptual collection are often beautiful , timeless , ageless and dislocated , however they are too
challenging , abstract , diminishing their influences on fashion trends
➢ Form and function : Functional garment such as military wear and expedition clothing have influenced
fashion designers .
➢ Workwear : This origin of this source is Levi's Strauss . The cloth traditional construction details can be
reworked with endless possibilities.
➢ Sportswear : This proved successful at a time when exercise and healthier lifestyle were beginning to
dictate a new style of clothing .
➢ Futuristic influences : This influences are no longer use historical references on this basis too many
designers over depend on them restricting their development as innovative designers . This can be
obvious in its presentation but , more importantly , it is about breaking new ground , taking in new
direction .
➢ Global influences : Since the 1960 international travel has become affordable and accessible to majority
of the developed world . Some designers have developed distinctive identities based on celebration of
international , cultural influences for garment , fabric, color .
➢ Political influences : Fashion reflects society and designers will often references political change in
their collections . Messages through clothes that wear in this influence can be subversive or can be bold
to create a reaction .
➢ Archivisim :This refers to way in which designers look back to previous collection for the inspiration .
The original aesthetic of well established label may be revisited decades later with collection
referencing the same design influences and detailing

13. A collection is a range of garment ,accessories or product that are designed and produce for sale to retailers or direct to customers.
This may be inspired by trend, theme or design direction reflecting cultural and social influences . Successful designers
,manufacturers and retailers have clear understanding of their customers ‘ need as well as understanding their position in
competitive market . In order to gain an understanding fashion there is need to conduct a “comp shop” to compare the stock with
competitor . Some customers are inspirational that known as muse who embodies the designer style or approach to fashion

When developing a collection with a staff team the designer will begin by explaining the overall look and theme of collection . A key

As fashion has evolved and information sources are now widely available online , the trend forecasting industry has responded to
provide a wider range of product . This include trend intelligence , customer trend all available subscription. some designers has own

include traditional costume , active sports , work wear , the military , politics and futurism

For making collection we have to establish the purpose of collection and market aiming
Then is to find a theme to stimulate a visual interpretation. A intense research process follows where often quite vague ideas
have to pinned down and direction of the collection established resulting in the right choice of fabric , color, and silhouette .
A story board or mind board is then put together to clarify intensions and help to do work easily then visually lay out the
size and diversity of each story and of entire range

in which halter neck top on upper part of

At lower part a skirt with flare has made .
On this I have done the work of waste
fabrics and twist them with each other on
the halter neck top . At the skirt I have
done the work on feathers .
