1.Ultrasonic Flowmeter is a type of flowmeter that determines the flow velocity of fluid using ultrasonic soundwaves .
2.Ultrasonic Flowmeter works on the principle of Transit Time Difference Method , where we use Ultrasonic Transducers to emit and detect the ultrasonic waves.
3. Principle : Transit Time Difference Method
Flow velocity of Fluid is directly proportional to
difference in time taken by ultrasonic waves to traverse
between the transducers.

Δ TOF = Difference in Time intervals [ T1-T2 ]
v = Average Flow Velocity of Fluid
c = Velocity of Sound in Fluid Medium
D = Diameter of pipe
9. Procedure
Open the Valves accordingly to ultrasonic flowmeter
setup.
Switch on the power supply so that water gets
pumped into the ultrasonic flowmeter setup .
First Perform ZERO FLOW TEST for Confirmation.
Take the reading displayed on the Software and also
note down the Loadcell reading .
Compare both the flow rates.

11. Work Progress :
We have finalized the design model along with its
frame .
Presently We were working on the functioning of
TDC 1000_TDC7200 EVM Kit and how to run this
on the Software.
12. Difficulties :
Mounting the transducers exactly at 45º angle to the
pipe.
Inserting the Transducers and sealing it firmly without
any leakage, without disturbing the flow parameters.
13. Improvements :
We can improvise this by, replacing Laptop interface
by rasberry pi minicomputer with an LCD Display.
Acrylic Tank with calibration scale helps the user to
calculate the flow rate manually.
