Detail: The main purpose of this application is digitizing an existing Excel-based risk assessment tool in to fully
automated web application. This Project includes five modules are Point of operation assessment, Alternative method
Generator, Machine Safety University, Machine Safety Play Book and Safety Automation Builder.
Point of operation assessment: The Point of Operation Assessment is a comprehensive task. Based risk assessment for
evaluating the risk associated with employee interacting with energized equipment. This tool Incorporates multiple risk-
assessment methodologies & includes features such risk prioritization, action plan creation, & a machine guarding
inventory.
Alternative method Generator: The Alternate Method Generator provides the user with the ability to create LOTO
Alternative Methods for those tasks determined to be routine, repetitive, & integral to production. The Generator utilizes
information from the Point of Operation Assessment to pre-populate a standardized alternative method template.
Alternative methods are linked to the corresponding task(s) in the Point of Operation Assessment.
Machine Safety University: The Machine Safety University is a "repository of machine safety-related resources. Users
can access general and machine-specific business & regional machine safety guidelines, recommendations, &
requirements. In addition, technical guidance, machine safety checklists, & information from consensus standards are
available.
Machine Safety Play Book: The Machine Safety Playbook is a "One-Stop-Shop" for machine risk reduction design. The
purpose of this tool is to provide the user with real GE Lighting examples of machine safety remediation projects that
have been implemented across the business. The playbook contains information to evaluate a proposed design & initiate
