• Attend free Conferences e.g. SQL Saturday /
SharePoint Saturday
• Study Hard
How will you stand out from the other applicants?
• Attain the highest qualification possible on your budget
• Have some practical working experience, even if it is
volunteering
• Have a better online presence than your competitor
• Make sure you have an OUTSTANDING CV
• Network – ‘word of mouth’ referrals are very
powerful
• Do not forget the Sisterhood
How will you stay ‘in demand’ throughout your whole
career?
• Learn something new every day
• Keep your Certifications up to date
• Stay relevant in the IT Space – get aligned to a product or a
technology & stick to it. Do not just become a ‘Manager’
• Keep adding to your Skills – look at courses in Business
Analysis or Project Management
• Never leave a company on a bad note
• Do not put other people ‘down’ to move ‘up’
