2. WHAT IS SOCIAL MEDIA?
Social media is a name given to online platforms that host communities. Before
now people of like minds and orientation meet at events or selected venues to
share ideas and opportunities within themselves.
Social Media is the future of communication, a countless array of internet based
tools and platforms that increase and enhance the sharing of information.
This new form of media makes the transfer of text, photos, audio, video, and
information in general increasingly fluid among internet users. Social Media has
relevance not only for regular internet users, but business as well.
Platforms like twitter, Facebook, and Linkedin have created online communities
where people can share as much or as little personal information as they desire
with other members. The result is an enormous amount of information that can be
easily shared, searched, promoted, disputed, and created.
3. JOBS & SOCIAL MEDIA
Jobs and Careers are very important factors in the life of each and
everyone.
To many individuals , jobs are a means to getting the needed financial or
social relevance within a community. Or as a means of acquiring skills
needed in business or entrepreneurship later in life.
While to some, building a career lifts their self esteem, as it helps them
climb the ladder of leadership in any organization.
In any country, the number of jobs created impacts on the Gross
Domestic Product of that country which shows the sign of growth or
economic decline.
This leads us to the question:
How do people find jobs?
6. According to a survey conducted by American Recruitment Consultants jo bvite ,
50.2% of Social Job hunt was conducted on Facebook, while 27.8% got their jobs

7. SOCIAL VS SUPER
SOCIAL
There are two categories of job seekers on all social platforms, they are :
1.Social Job seekers: These are job seekers with limited activity to one
social
platform and limited contacts below 150.
2. Super Social job seekers: These are ones with more than 150 contacts
on a given
social network.
According to studies, supersocial job seekers tend to get more job offers
than their
Job seeking counterparts due to their high activity rate on all platforms.
It is believed that Social job seekers are more concerned with networking
friends,Families and trending emotional issues while online. This explains
why Facebook has over 1 billion users while LinkedIn has 350m active
users.
