     substantiates currently-held beliefs/goals.

   ā€“ Overestimating the frequency of vivid, extreme
     or recent events and causes
ā€¢ Representative bias
   ā€“ Failure to take into account base rates and
     overestimating the likelihood of rare events

   ā€“ Having to wait your turn to voice your ideas

   ā€“ The larger the group, the less individual effort
     exerted.

   ā€“ Task: regarding how to approach the task
   ā€“ Emotional: typically based on value differences

ā€¢ Generate more alternatives
  ā€“ Brainstorming
    ā€¢   1) Don't allow criticism;
    ā€¢   2) Encourage wild ideas;
    ā€¢   3) Go for quantity;
    ā€¢   4) Combine and/or improve
         on others' ideas.
  ā€“ Nominal group technique
    ā€¢ Go it alone first!
