2. The ancient Egyptians were
fascinating people who
settled in the Nile Valley
thousands of years ago.
In Ancient Egypt they
believed in life after death .
Animals were very
important and they believed
that cats had magic powers
to cure people.
4. The Nile is one of the biggest rivers in the
world and runs along North East Africa.
Every year in July the river inundated the valley.
The ancient Egyptians learned how to canalise this water
to use it during the rest of the year to cultivate the land.
5. DAILY LIFE
Egyptian houses were made of
mud bricks.
The streets were narrow,
crowded, noisy and filthy

6. FAMILY LIFE
Education was based on money,
because to go to school families
have to pay. So, only the rich and
only boys went to school.
Women ran the family and men
cultivated the land.
7. They liked fashion .
They wore wigs in ceremonies and gold
amulets, bracelets and other ornaments.
Noble men shaved their heads.
8. Most clothes were made of linen.
Egyptians used no shoes, sometimes wore sandals
made of leather but most of the time went barefoot.
9. •The Egyptians loved having fun.
•In their tombs there are lots of
paintings of party scenes
10. Poor Egyptians relaxed at home with their families,
telling stories and playing games.
Rich Egyptians offered big parties for their friends with
enormous amounts of food and drinks.
Egyptians also loved hunting animals : crocodiles,
hippos and birds.
11. To the Egyptians illnesses
were caused by evil spirits
entering the body, so
prayers to the Gods were
important to cure people.

14. They prepared for the afterlife by filling their
tombs with small and large statues of pets,
Anubis, the jackal god.
15. Temples and pyramids were
a reflection of gods and pharaohs.
The pyramids were funerary monuments and the first
to be built was that of Zoser.
The Pyramids of Giza are the most famous and were
used as tombs for the Pharaohs

16. The Sphinx of Giza is a body of a lion with the head of a
king or god.
The sphinx has come to symbolize strength and wisdom.

of the oldest languages of the world.

Stone . It was written in three ways:
