2. GRADE 5: Grammar
• Present Perfect:
– For and since (how long).
– Never and ever.
– Just.
• Because.
• Future: will.
• Quantifiers: many, much, a lot, a few…
• Preferences: I prefer & I would rather.
3. Present Perfect
• We use the Present Perfecf when there is no
time reference.
– SUBJECT + HAVE/HAS + PAST PARTICIPLE.
• They have played tennis = They’ve played tennis.
• You have drunk milk recently= You’ve drunk milk recently.
12. • We use EVER to ask questions about
experiences in the past.
• We use NEVER when something has not
happened in the past.
Presente Perfect with ever and never.
13. Have you ever been to London?
Yes, I have. I’ve been to London many
times.
14. Has she ever received a postcard?
Yes, she has. She’s received a postcard
once.
17. Present Perfect: just
• Just is often used only with the Present
Perfect and it means a short time ago.
– SUBJECT + HAVE/HAS + JUST + PAST PARTICIPLE
• Where is Pancracio?
– He has just woken up.
20. Future with WILL
• We use WILL to make predictions or to inform
about the future.
– Affirmative: I + WILL + VERB – I will eat.
– Negative: I + WON’T + VERB – I won’t swim.

Remember!
PREFER + object + TO + object.
• He prefers his folder to his student’s diary.
PREFER + verb-ing + TO + verb-ing.
• I prefer going to the zoo to playing with my cousin.

Remember!
WOULD RATHER + Infinitive without to
+ THAN + Infinitive without to.
• They would rather (They’d rather) go for a walk than
have a bath.
• I’d rather (I would rather) watch a comedy than see an
action film.
