2011 –present… Glass Packaging Group of Şişecam ( Anadolu Cam Sanayi A.Ş. )
Anadolu Cam is one of the major glass packaging (bottles&jars) suppliers of the world having a capacity of
4% globally, running 10 plants in 4 countries; Turkey, Russia, Ukraine and Georgia
Development and Quality Director reports to the President and directs 4 departments with 4 managers, 20
engineers, 8 draughtsmen and technicians at the company headquarters, and Eskişehir Decoration Plant
with 240 total employee; the departments are as follows;
Development Department
carries out both technology and business development activities for the glass packaging production
industry ; i.e. polymer coating on bottles, waste heat recovery systems ORC, special visual
inspection machines for asymmetric bottles, ıntroducing high-temp plastic materials to glass
forming process and lightening bottles without losing main properties are amongst the most
recent ones….(in 3 years time 4 waste heat recovery plants were constructed which generate
7.5MW electricity in total, … for 120 different bottles in the market a weight reduction of %3.6 has
been achieved in average which is very remarkable in the glass industry)
Projects Department
designs and executes major new investment projects such as Eskişehir Plant (2012-13, total
investment 145 mil.$), Eskişehir Decoration Plant (2013, total investment 20mil.$) and Georgia-
Mina2 Plant (2013-14, total investment 40mil$)
starting from lay-out design, feasibility studies, machinery- equipment selection, erection of the
plant and all due activities until start-up are in the responsibilities of Projects Department

2. Technical Services and Auditing Department
as an aftersales customer service department, assists customers (more than 120 B2B customers
both local and abroad) to overcome difficulties in the automatic filling lines, analyses problems
related with the glass packaging, takes precautions to eliminate problems permanently and decide
how to compensate the losses of customer if any
as a proactive service department, visits the customers and organizes seminars regularly to explain
the characteristics of glass on high speed filling lines and the up-to-date filling technologies suitable
for glass packaging
by the introduction of new Document Management software working on SAP platform, the
finalization period of the customer claims reduced from 53 days to 24 on average, recently

initiating and coordinating the publicly known “Cam Yeniden Cam” project with the participation of
over 110 municipalities around Turkey providing educational, promotional and infrastructural
services for recycling the glass which is much below the European standards; the project has been
given “EU Business Award for Environment 2013” and “ISO 2014 Environment Award”
the amount of glass recycled has increased from 65.000 to 140.000 tonnes in four years time from
the project start-up in 2011 to present and the ambitious goal for 2020 is 350.000 tonnes
conceptualises, designs and initiates quality procedures and regulations (Sedex, ISO…. ) for all
phases of glass packaging production process in accordance with the market requirements
Eskişehir Decoration Plant
located in Eskişehir Industrial Zone with 30.000 m2 building, 9 printing and coating lines has a
production capacity of 250 million pieces per year…. full automatic production lines have up-to-
date technology with servo driven and optically controlled printing systems and electrostatic disc
coating machinery …plant have a work force of 250 employees working three shifts and 15 of them
are white collar staff
Development and Quality Director is a member of IPGR (International Partners on Glass Research) and FEVE
(Fédération Européennes Verre Emballage) representing Anadolu Cam … both are the corporate
organisations of major glass packaging manufacturers of the world and Europe
Business and Technology Development Manager

directed a core team of skilful engineers and draughtsman at the company headquarters, coordinated
engineers, technicians ,marketing and sales units within an interdisciplinary context
served Paşabahçe’s 4 domestic plants (Kırklareli, Mersin, Eskişehir and Denizli) and 2 abroad plants (Russia
and Bulgaria), supplying 11% of world’s tableware production both in quantity and turnover
the main tasks and achievements could be summarised as follows;
Technology Development Projects
over 40 completely new technology development projects have been realized for almost all phases
of tableware process from forming to virtual inspection and packaging; 12 projects have been
evaluated as major development events by TÜBİTAK and financially supported
projects required a vast range of technologies and know-how i.e. material science, forming and
moulding technologies, heat treatment techniques, nano coatings, printing techniques, control
engineering, mechatronics, automatic packaging, robotics, lasers, image processing …

3. project related with a special printing technique has been patented in name (Patent
No:2007/09179, High Speed Total Transfer Printing on Engraved Surfaces) and project subjecting a
special tempering on special fibre rollers (Patent No:2009/02586, Tableware Tempering on Fibre
Rollers) as well
Cooperation in Technology Development
when in house technology development was infeasible, cooperation’s have been initiated with
competent manufacturers in Italy, Germany, France, UK, Portugal and USA
Know-How Transfers (in and out)
JAPAN 1991 to 2001 … undertaken coordination job at all stages of the know-how transfer project
from the Japanese company IGC on special forming techniques
COLOMBIA 2000 to 2001 … negotiating, consulting and conducting of selling a full production line
complete with relevant know-how to the Colombian company PELDAR
New Investments Abroad
PAŞABAHÇE RUSSIA (total investment 110 mil.$) … starting with audits in 1999 undertaken full
responsibility in negotiations with local and state authorities, competitor analysis, feasibility
studies, take-over process, supply agreements and modernization efforts until 2008
PAŞABAHÇE BULGARIA (total investment 90 mil.$) … feasibility studies, engineering works, full
plant machinery and equipment design were realized between 2004 and 2005
CHINA and MIDDLE EAST … possible investment or JV investigations in China, Egypt and Oman
