The presentation provides concession information, details the port's shareholder structure, gives information pertaining to the MPDC's main responsibilities, looks at the port's jurisdiction area for future developments, exposes the historical volumes handled, uncovers the main pillars of the Port of Maputo's Master plan, highlights projects in progress, gives an update on the expansion of the Chrome slab, provides an overview of the port expansion plan and construction of new access roads, showcases the dredging project and lists the critical success factors impacting the port.

2. Concession Information
• MPDC has the concession rights to operate the Port of Maputo and
the approved concession period ends in 2033 with an option to
extend for a further 10 years
• Concession agreement was approved by Decree 20/2000 25th July
and extend for additional 15 years by Decree 21/2010 30th June.
• An approved Port Master Plan is in place to ensures that
growth initiatives are implemented in a planned and structured
manner. The master plan foresees a growth of the port up to 50
million tons.
• A Rail Master Plan have been developed to enable the growth
initiatives contained in the Port Master Plan
