2. CAREER SUMMARY
IT POSITIONS
January 2007 to July 2016 SeniorBusiness Systems Analyst (Permanent) Towergate Partnership
o The SBSA role involves working on a variety of projects and subject matters across any number of the Towergate Underwriting and
Broking organisations within the UK, operating within the Commercial/Retail insurance business arenas.
o This position has also included an Account Manager role for the Towergate Underwriting Marine Company.
o The position included the responsibility to aid or manage the delivery of a variety of projects to the agreed scope, quality, cost and
timescales, liaison with key stakeholders (at all levels within the management scale), third party suppliers, technical and business staff to
ensure delivery.
o Utilise extensive knowledge and understanding of the product policy lifecycle components, encompassing data-capture/processing, rating,
acceptance/referral rules, document production, accounts processing, claims and MI to produce comprehensive & implemented business
and functional requirement specifications/solutions.
o Key interface/negotiation resource between internal/external IT and business stakeholder
o Significantly contributed to the successful implementation of a wide range of projects, which include:

SEPTEMBER 06 to December 06 Business Analyst (Permanent) Xchanging Global Insurance Solutions
o Worked as part of the UK Implementation Team on site at a high profile U.S client, implementing Xchanging’s General Insurance package
software (Genius).
o Involved with system configuration, documenting Product requirements, and Business and Functional specifications for future system
enhancement.
o Employed as part of a team to implement the system in various Latin American countries, the roll out of which was subsequently delayed
indefinitely.
3. JUNE 05 to DEC 05 Business Analyst (Contract) Zurich Global (UK) Limited
Defined the business requirements for a new Professional Indemnity Web front end to an existing PAS. This project was then put on hold
after 2 weeks.
Management of a UAT process through to implementation (from the generation of the Test Scripts through to sign off by the business).
This was for enhancements to an existing Large Loss database built in Lotus Notes and a Web accessed SQL database system used for
managing Contract Certainty.
Cataloguing all top priority reports used by all offices within the UK, detailing their purpose, description and software used to generate
output e.g. SQL, MI, Back End systems etc.
NOVEMBER 04 to MAY05 UAT Manager/ Business Analyst (Contract) Towergate Underwriting Group
Employed to manage the UAT process during the implementation of a retail and commercial PAS (Insight) for the Marine company
implemented within 2 UK offices.
Responsibilities included explaining the UAT process to end users, aiding them to define the content and documentation of relevant tests,
management of the change control process including liaison with the third party software vendor
The role was expanded to include business analyst duties, including requirements definition, internal process re-evaluation, system set up,
and some system testing of the functionality delivered.
MAY 04 to JUNE 04 Consultant (Short Term contract only) AIG Europe (UK) Limited
Employed to investigate the existing Booking process (Premium) for the main six Profit Centers within the company, the deliverable for
which was recommendations for process improvement.
A business requirements document for a new system to replace the existing manual processes was completed.
JANUARY 02 to OCTOBER 03 SeniorBusiness Analyst (Permanent) QBE International Insurance Limited
o Position involved working closely with Underwriters and other key stakeholders to define the Business Requirements and installation of a
number of projects including Personal Accident Aggregations, a Personal Accident Rating system, Letter of Credit (LOC), enhancements
to an existing Credit, Surety and Political Risks system and also gap analysis and recommendations for an existing MI system built in
Business Objects.
o Additional work included documenting the Company’s Bureau signing processes, managing the testing and project implementation for
phase II of the UK Motor Insurance Database system. (Experian) and various other smaller system and process changes.
JUNE 00 to DECEMBER 01 Business Analyst (Contract) Miller Insurance Group
o Employed to run Best Practice workshops for the whole of the business operation, the results of which were to be incorporated within the
working practices for a new Broking and Claims system (Twins 2000).
o Additional work included detailing Business Requirements for a number of projects including, IT Disaster Recovery, Remote Access to
systems for both Clients and Staff, Late Signings reporting, Internal Security Bulletins, and Management Reporting.
o The system testing and additional detailed business requirements for a new front end GUI Quote and Placing system incorporating Slip
and Cover note production was also performed.
MAY99 to MAY 00 Consultant/Business Analyst (Permanent) Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC)
o Involved in obtaining and documenting Client requirements for a fully integrated Broking, Claims and Accounting system, and defining
enhancements to the chosen package to meet those requirements.
o Work included running workshops to discuss requirements and solutions and preparing detailed requirements documents to form part of
the signed contract.
o The package chosen by the client was originally designed as a Retail broking system, and enhancements were required to add full London
Market Insurance/Reinsurance processing.
o The role incorporated liaison with the clients key stakeholders, the production of full Business Requirements documentation, including
screen designs, data modelling (logical and physical), data processes etc.
4. DEC 93 to MAY 99 Team Leader of System Testing plus Systems/Business Analyst (Permanent). AON Group
o Employed within the System Test section of a new in house development for a Broking and Claims PAS system (Abacus) for Nicholson
Leslie Group (subsequently purchased by Aon group).
o Duties included the management, control and planning of the System test team functions, including construction and review of business
cases for all areas within the system (Placing, Premium processing, Claims functionality and MI) plus subsequent application of these tests
using automated testing tools.
From 1.10.94 the role was changed to become a Systems/Business Analyst.
o As a System/ Business Analyst, duties included defining user requirements, producing functional specifications including Logical Data
Models, Screen Designs, Flow Diagrams and General Processing rules plus control of UAT testing, and Change Control.
o Involved in detailing user requirements for the rationalisation of information from a number of legacy systems (obtained as part of various
company buyouts), for the purposes of archiving the information for continued use and to meet government compliance regulations. This
was held in document form on a COLD system (Retriever).

o Employed to investigate and reconcile catastrophe claims between the Company's old (System 38) and new (IRIS) computer systems and
amend figures as necessary...
o The contract was then changed to be open ended, and the duties changed to include the carrying out a complete claims audit exercise in
respect of all policies within the company ( All major classes), using the ELASS and CLAMS market systems.
OCT 92 to NOV92 Temporary Consultancy Contract Allstate Reinsurance Company (UK) Limited
o The comparison of a variety of areas of the Company's old mainframe (system 38) and new computer systems (IRIS) , reporting
recommendations of potential changes in working practices for consideration.
o This also included the production of training material for the claims area of the new system.
DEC 87 to AUG92 Underwriting Services Manager UIC Insurance Company Limited
o Handling all aspects of underwriting back up, which included processing of slips, both manually and on computer, technical accounts and
agreement of contract wordings where the Company was Leading Underwriter.
o All aspects of the Company's Outward Reinsurances (ex.claims), including Renewal presentations.
o Responsible for the implementation of a new computer system (IRIS). This implementation included the analysis of the Holding Company’s
Worldwide Insurance processing/reporting requirements, and defining/implementing a coding structure to enable these needs to be
achieved.
o Migration of the old system data on to the new system.

o Full Broker/Director support role, including slip preparation, cover noting, drafting, checking and agreement of wordings, ov erseas
marketing and day to day client liaison by telephone, correspondence and meetings.

o Responsible for Accounts ledger maintenance for the Sten Re offices worldwide, including preparation and submission of statements,
