Introduction
• By the early 2000s,a new category of software is
emerging: social software. Commonly known as
Web services, they have proved a success. This is
the beginning of the internet 2.0
• In late 90s, the first three social networking sites was
  born: Tribe.net, Linkedlnand Friendster(by Mark
Pincus, Reid Hoffman and Jonathan Abrams)
• But these social networks are each specialized in a
field of their own (romance, friendships and
professional). The creation of the social network
Facebookwill upset the notion of “social
  networking” communities in combining professional
  and friendly…
A) Social networks
1) Definitions
-Marketing:
“As part of a marketing approach, the term generally
refers to social networks all websites to build a network of
friends or professional knowledgeand providing their
members with tools and interfaces, interactions,
presentation and communication.”

                                                 By Bertrand Bathelot
Associate Professor of Economics Marketing Management Option
-Sociological
We define social network sites as wed-based services
that allow individuals to construct a public or semi-
publicprofile within a bounded system, articulate a list
of other users with whom they share a connection,
and view and traverse their list of connections and
those made by others within the system.

B) Focus on Facebook
2) Its advantages
What makes Facebook so popular?
1- It’s FREE
2- It’s a QUICK and EASY way to communicate
And collaborate with friends, family and associates
(average user has 130 friends)
3- It’s a quick and easy way to reconnected with OLD
FRIENDS or find NEW ones
4- It host user-created content, allowing for self
expression through the sharing and posting of blog,
video, music, photo, etc….
5- Provides access to globalhappening (news and

people that view their profile and the information
others can post in it
8- IT’S FUN !!!
3) Its dangers
Why people are wary about it?
1- the privacy exposed to the entire world
2- risks in workplace
3- risks of addiction
4- decreased concentration skills
“52%of children aged 13 to 17 say they go on a social
network as they do their homework”
“30 minute are lost each day by workers on
                        Facebook”
5- Prolemswithin couples
6-Identity theft
7- Facebook is slowly killing traditional language,
because most of the users use SMS vocabulary to
replace common words.
“Firstly, I want to tell you that you must be very careful
about what you post on Facebook, because at this
time of YouTube and other community sites, anything
that you wish to be presented against you throughout
                           your life.”

                  By Barack Obama
               President of United States
Conclusion
What we want to say is that…..
Social network helps in connecting millions of people.
It is a platform where people from different culture
come together and share their thoughts, photo,
  video, etc..,
For some people Social network has become an
  indispensible part of their life.
For some others, their profession is based either
But thereor indirectly on it. people who has lost their
  directly are thousands of
lives to it. Many peoples waste lots of time on it and
loose their life.
Social network has its own advantages and
disadvantages. So, it’s better to play on the safer side
