allowing customers to develop, run, and manage applications without the complexity of building and maintaining the
infrastructure typically associated with developing and launching an app. The sector covers following business cuts.

An application platform as a service refers to a self contained cloud environment for designing, building,
deploying and managing enterprise applications.
iPaaS
(application Platform as a Service)
iPaaS is a cloud-based integration solution for both the server and data infrastructures, as well as
middleware. Most iPaaS offerings include maps and transformations for the development of integration flows
as well as pre-built connectors and business rules for defining interactions.
mBaaS
(mobile Backend as a Service)
mBaaS or BaaS (Backend as a Service) is a model to link applications to backend cloud storage and APIs
exposed by back end applications while also providing features such as authentication, management
consoles, push notifications etc
Database Middleware PaaS
Database Middleware Platform or DBaaS is a cloud-based approach to the storage and management of
structured data.

PaaS for Industry specific needs. This may be based on a specific area of interest or generalised business

supported include Java, Python, PHP, Bash, Lua etc. Databases supported include couchdb, mongodb, amazon
dynamo db, redis etc. Storage facilities include for Amazon S3, Microsoft Azure, Rackspace, Google Cloud etc. Small,
medium and large versions are priced at $20, $50 and $100/month respectively.
CloudGear [Zurich, 2014]: Cloudgear is a full container platform provider offering private Docker registry and
managed Kubernetes as a Service. The platform offers flexible Kubernetes images that can be configured on both
bare metal and virtual machines and over third party cloud infrastructure or native in house data centers. It also
provides an interface for open source Docker registry and back ups for containerized databases as well as file systems
of data containers. Currently in a Beta mode with usage through invites.
TCP Cloud [Prague, 2014]: TCP cloud offers a cloud platform called MK 2.0 based on Openstack. The open source
platform offers end-to-end management of cloud infrastructure from automation layer which includes configuration
and orchestration to interface layer consisting of user dashboards, data analytics and visualization features.
NetSuite [San Mateo, 1998]: NetSuite Inc is a vendor of cloud computing business management software suites. It
offers products like ERP, CRM, e-commerce and Professional Services Automation (PSA). NetSuite’s patent-pending
“real-time dashboard” technology provides an easy-to-use view into role-specific business information that is always
up-to-date. Total revenue for 2014 exceeded half a billion dollars. Customer base is spread across advertising,
education, energy, financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, non-profit, media, retail, software,
wholesale/distribution industries. In June 2014, NetSuite was named in the Forbes magazine's "Most innovative
growth companies" list.
