Exclusive ‘Pay to Play’ Culture for young player’s
• Grass roots clubs required to gain significant funds from parents
to survive
• New 3G pitches implemented to improve standards have
become revenue cash cows despite being whole & part funded
by lottery and football charities
• Pitches remain locked during off peak times with no
concessions
• Some children say “my parents cant afford for me to play
football”

Academy EPPP guidelines require significant parent investment
• Typical Development centre (second tier academy filter) train
one day a week and some require between £400 and £900 a
year to even be in the system
• Academy registered player required to attend training between
3 and 4 times a week plus attend match day games. Players in
foundation phase U9-U11 could live an hour away. Players in
Development phase could live 1.5 hours away.
• Most people can do circa 40 miles in and hour. Lets say that 1
return trip cost a conservative £10. That’s at least £50 a week
not taking into account away games.
• Far to assume a cost of between £200 - £300 per month to be
an academy player and that IF the parents have a vehicle

• We have been providing coaching excellence classes to grass roots
clubs for the last 3 years with 100% positive feedback.
• Provided holiday clubs and coaching services in schools
There are some really great grass roots clubs and coaches that we
have worked with. Sadly though, through my work in schools I have
found countless young people say “I don’t play for a club, we cant
afford it”. That is NO critique of those clubs. No one lets them train
for free or gives them kit & equipment for free.

• All coaches DBS cleared to education level requirements
• All coaches sign up to our coaching ethos
• Level 1 + coaches with at least level 2 Youth Module
• Deliver our syllabus curriculum based rolling sessions
• Attend and take part in internal & external in service and CPD
sessions
We have appointed local football coach Graham Cowley who is
innovative, creative, qualified and an example of conduct that fits
perfectly with our Ethos. Graham is involved in leadership of
overall player development.

Kevin Gallen is a pundit on Skysports and Tony McCool is the coach
for Skysports own football team. We will engage our relationship to
gain coverage of our academy and will have a regular weekly
updated youtube channel covering our games and interviews
