Large Data Onboarding
31. No blockchains today offer this ability
● Improve the ability for users to
retrieve data stored on the
Filecoin Network through CDN-
quality tools
● For example, an upcoming goal is
to index all of the CIDs stored in
Filecoin sectors so that anyone
with the proper indexer code
can retrieve data from an SP
● Ensure that Filecoin can support
onboarding the chain
bandwidth that Storage
Providers are bringing to the
Network
● Future projects will make it easier,
more efficient, cheaper, and
more reliable to onboard data
and capacity to the Network
● Implement the Filecoin Virtual
Machine to unlock a range of new
tooling on the Network (more on
following page)
● Ability to run
‘compute-over-data’, or
programs that access data, stored
in Filecoin sectors, and conduct
computation and re-store that data
in new Filecoin sectors, while
iterating
There are three main components of the Filecoin

45. Filecoin Green is building tools to verifiably decarbonize Filecoin, with
the generality necessary to do the same across web3 and the broader
economy
I. We evaluated the energy use of the Filecoin network,
turning it into the most transparent major blockchain for
electricity consumption.
II. We are connecting the network to renewable energy, and
allowing nodes to prove exactly where and how renewable
energy is generated to store client data.
III. We support Filecoin Storage Providers in becoming more
sustainable through guidance and green grants.
IV. We are building an environmental web3 developer
community through monthly meetups, hackathons,
grants, and more.
